Zizu & Coco have been sick…naturally we visit the clinic quite often. Zizu has urinary infection & Coco has been bitten by some parasite & she has fever.
Yesterday we encountered a very entertaining couple. Their dog was in a miserable state. I don’t know how old he was. But another vet has asked them to euthanize him. He was a Labrador. Maggots are eating away his leg & he also has some internal problems. But the couple was clueless about everything. They give him dog food (which has done a lot of damage) & when this vet suggested that they should at least boil meat for 10 minutes for the dog, they just couldn’t digest it either. All along they were arguing with each other. The giant husband was holding his cell phone next to his huge ear all the time. They wasted so much of everyone’s time by telling us all that they know nothing & whatever little bit they thought they knew about dogs was useless. We all waited like anything for the drama to get over, but they really liked to hear themselves argue in front of every one.
I think keeping a dog (or any other animal) is one big responsibility. Some questions ought to be asked when you decide to keep a puppy. Animals are very sensitive creatures. They need attention & love. You may like the world to know that you care about animals. But if you can’t take care of them, please don’t bother to keep one as a pet. Had I been in America, I might have reported this couple.
And by observing that weird couple, I couldn’t help drawing the zillion year old conclusion that marriages are indeed made in heaven :P
