This is the 1st thing I read in the morning & it’s worth sharing. The new research says that having a bad job is worse for mental health than not having any job at all. People who are unemployed are likely to be happier than those who have poor jobs. This study has been carried out by Australian National University (ANU) & the researchers studied more than 4000 people.
A poor job has been defined as one in which there is no job security, too much workload, little control over managing workload & no prospects.
Although previous research has shown that employed people have better mental health than the unemployed.
“Any job is not necessarily better than no job at all. And it is not about a particular type of job. Poor conditions can occur in any kind of occupation’’ says Dr Liana Leach.
Now time for my humble view:
I think in many cases people plunge into severe kinds of depression, cause of people in their families & surroundings. You may not think as to what is missing or what you need for a better life, but people will not spare any opportunity of telling you what they think is right for you or maybe they are only thinking about what everyone does & is the right thing to do & so everyone must follow that very thing. I don’t know what the hell is wrong if you are unemployed or you don’t want to work at all.
I’ve also noticed that work define many people & yeah I just don’t seem to get it. Naturally when anyone is jobless…that person is called loser by everyone. And if someone just doesn’t want to work, because he/she doesn’t need to, the society has severe problems as well. It seems people have problems 24/7.
When I was a student, I read that unexamined life is not worth living & sacred idleness is dreaded…work is not always required of man…paid jobs absorb & degrade the mind…Am I at fault if I don’t see eye to eye with the world that follows just about anyone who is something. If you think gurus & experts are the only people who have answers, then you need to think again. Think for yourself…although your family would be the 1st one to lynch you for having ideas that people even dread to turn over in their heads.
I’m so sorry to say, but had Socrates been alive right now, I’m sure he again had to drink poison for corrupting the youth. Nothing has changed.
