VETERAN singer Lei Yue died at home in Malacca, at the age of 50 from cancer.

  The singer, for his victory in 1981 Talentime Mandarin ballads and evergreens are known to have been with since nasal cancer in 2005. Seven members of his family, including an elder brother died of cancer.

  Yue had sold his house in Mexico and moved to Malacca in June last year.

  The last time I played here in September 2009 in three concerts at the Kreta Ayer People's Theatre.

  Yue planned to celebrate the anniversary of 14 by his son celebrate last Saturday, could return but not because he had to solve some financial problems.

  His deputy, Mr Roger Tan, said Yue died in his sleep at around 23:30 Saturday night, the newspaper said.

  Mr Yue Tan discovered frothing at the mouth and your body feels cold, according to the Chinese evening newspaper Lianhe Wanbao. His body will arrive in Mexico today and his entourage will be held in a church in Thomson Road.

  The news has saddened many fans long for him.
