CSD has announced that actress Marlee Matlin will make an appearance at a fundraiser at the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

The Academy Award winner, producer, author and activist will help the "Grow With CSD" event raise money at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 for CSD programs that assist deaf and hard-of-hearing people and their families gain equal access to services, communication, education and social and economic opportunities.

There will be a children's performance, a presentation from Matlin, a book signing, a news conference, an "Inspiration Lunch," sponsor recognition and a lunch and mingle.
