I have been looking after 3 kittens these days. 2 of them were rescued by my brother on 30th September, & my mother & I found the 3rd sibling the next day. Their mother was killed in some accident. They are very little; they are around 3 weeks old & they are of the size of a chick. We will look for loving homes for them once they are old enough. Right now we feed them with a dropper. And if any of you out there come across kittens, please only give Lactogen. That’s the milk for babies. Don’t try out any other milk.
There is this stupid myth that cats love milk; yeah they do but they also get loose motions, which isn’t good for their health. Please refrain from giving milk to adult cats. And Lactogen is the only milk for babies.
Yesterday some people were having this discussion on docked tails. I’m sorry to say but breed conscious Pakistanis are all for docked tails. I have also met people who love docked ears. They say it looks beautiful & it seems nobody cares about the animal. It’s amputation of a body part. It must be an ordeal for an animal. And I’m sure it must be painful. This lady who was all for docking…I seriously had the urge to ask her…How about you cutting half of your ass, as you don’t have any tail? It may sound funny but it’s not.
“Robert Wansborough argues in a 1996 paper that docking dogs' tails puts them at a disadvantage in several ways. Firstly, Wansborough argues that dogs use their tails actively in communicating with other dogs (and with people); a dog without a tail might be significantly handicapped in conveying fear, caution, aggression, playfulness, and so on. In addition, certain dog breeds use their tails as rudders when swimming, and possibly for balance when running, so active dogs with docked tails might be at a disadvantage compared to their tailed peers. Wansborough also investigates seven years of records from an urban veterinary practice to demonstrate that undocked tails result in less harm than docked tails”
I read elsewhere:
“Tail docking is a very emotive subject in the dog world. Supporters of docking say that there are several reasons why tails should be docked - these include avoiding tail damage and maintaining breed standards. We say that it done purely for cosmetic reasons. The majority of dogs are now kept as pets, not working animals, and there is very little likelihood of tails getting damaged. As for maintaining breed standards, this is simply the out-dated views of breeders and show judges who have become accustomed to the look of a certain breed and are unwilling to change their views. The Kennel Club plays a large part in perpetrating the custom and undocked dogs are unfairly discriminated against in the show ring.”
Some of these people who are all for amputation have issues when I get my cats neutered. One of them was saying to me that it is so cruel & is also not Islamic. What is cruel about it? It’s the problem of a cat who is aggressive & can’t find any mate. Those of us who don’t fuck around can understand the torment an animal goes through when he/she can’t find anyone. Some of my friends have lost their cats, because the cat just couldn’t take it & left the house & never came back. Dragging Islam everywhere is essential for some people. Where are these people when strays are being killed in god-damn posh areas? How can they forget what Hazrat Umar said about a dog going hungry? And he was answerable to God. Right? Aren’t ordinary humans answerable for their deeds?
I think caring about a being that can’t even talk is the duty of every human being who has his heart in the right place.
One of the reasons why they are against neuter is that they sell babies of these animals & this speaks volumes about how much they care. If you care about someone, you wouldn’t want that person to have babies every year & to go on with this shit till it’s possible to drop babies.
