Beat a dog to death in Iowa? No problem – as long as it is yours!

Well this has been said by a judge when he passed over a verdict in which he let go of a man who killed his puppy in 2009. The name of the puppy was Sire & he was 5 months old when he was murdered by his crazy owner. On 9th June’09, Sire urinated on the carpet while his owner Bobby Loggins of Sioux city, Iowa was entertaining his friends.

There were 3 witnesses who said otherwise but Bobby Loggins pleaded ‘not guilty.’ He punched the puppy 30 times on his head, which caused his death.

Animal rights activists & various bloggers – all of them have been speaking against this verdict. This man will spend only one month in jail for punching his puppy to death.

“Woodbury County District Court Judge Gary E. Wenell sentenced 36-year-old Bobby Loggins to 365 days in jail but suspended 335 days of that sentence and credited Loggins for time already served. Loggins will be on probation for 18 months upon his release.

Witnesses testified during the bench trial that Loggins punched the dog numerous times in the face after it urinated on the dining room carpet at his home. Loggins took the puppy outside, and when it returned, it was breathing hard, shaking and coughing up blood. The puppy died a short time later.

What kind of justice is this? I thought that animals were respected in that country, but I’m aghast to read all this. Pets urinate & shit outside the pot or trough; it’s nothing out of this world. And owners clean that mess. You don't kill your pet for doing something like that.

Today I read that in Singapore a man has been thrown in jail for 10 years, as he killed his cat. He banged the head of the cat a couple of times on the wall & one of his neighbors saw this madness. Although I think people who kill animals should be hanged, but nevertheless at least in Singapore, some action was taken against a ruthless, crazy man, whereas in the US, this murderer gets to reside in jail for just 1 month.

I think they should stop worrying about women in Afghanistan & concentrate on the rights of animals, which exist, but aren’t that effective. The reason being that women over there don’t even think that men are wrong when they do what they do; they don’t even have problem when they are sexually abused by their husbands…by which I mean anal sex. You may think otherwise but I do think it’s an abuse. On the other hand, animals feel the pain everywhere on this god-damn planet. They ought to be protected from humans at all cost as they can’t protest for themselves.

Here is the Judge’s reasoning for giving the light sentence:

“The dog was his own. It was not some valuable fancy show dog belonging to another. It was not a neighbor boy’s dog, it was not an elderly person’s companion…We do not have a statewide problem with this kind of crime.”
