Gary Coleman died at the age of 42 after suffering a intracranial hemorrhage that left him in a coma and on life support. He suffered an injury in his home in Utah on Wednesday, and his condition significantly worsened and he was placed on life support.
His wife, Shannon, had life support pulled early Friday morning. Family members and close friends were at Coleman’s side when life support was pulled.
Mr. Coleman became a star at age 10 for his role on "Diffrent Strokes." The show, which had its debut in 1978, cast him as Arnold Jackson, the younger of two children adopted by the millionaire Philip Drummond -played by Conrad Bain. The show ran for eight years.
Gary Coleman’s publicist released the following statement- "Thanks to everyone for their well wishing and support during this tragic time. Now that Gary has passed, we know he will be missed because of all the love and support shown in the past couple of days. Gary is now at peace and his memory will be kept in the hearts of those who were entertained by him throughout the years."
