Today is historical day in the Philippines. After canvassing the votes from the May 10 polls for nearly three weeks, the joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives proclaimed Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III as the new president and and Jejomar Binay as the new vice president of the Philippines.The Proclamation was held at the Batasan Complex today June 9, 2010. Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and House Speaker Prospero Nograles made the proclamation at 3:45 in the afternoon. The whole building was full of supporters, politicians and showbiz personalities.
Aquino Sisters- Ballsy, Pinky, Biel and Kris were there to support Noynoy. Noynoy's girlfriend, Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad, also arrived to support him.
Noynoy's barong was made by a Filipino fashion designer JC Buendia. All of the Aquino sisters are dressed in black. I heard that Ballsy, Biel and Pinky's dress was made by fashion designer Paul Cabral while Kris is wearing a dress made by JC Buendia.
It was another historic event for the Philippines. Congratulations to Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and Jejomar Binay. We Hope that they will fulfill their promises for a better country.
