Shrek Glass Recall

McDonalds Recall: Another major company announce a recall. McDonald’s are recalling 12 million Shrek glasses due to contamination concerns. McDonald's has painted designs and this paint contains toxic metal- traces of Cadmium. Cadmium is a toxic chemical known to cause bone damage, liver and kidney damage and worst it could lead to cancer.

The 16oz Shrek designed glasses were sold for $2 to promote the movie "Shrek Forever After." There are different designs to choose from and they all promote the upcoming movie "Shrek Forever After", designs include paintings of Puss in Boots, donkey, Shrek and Princess Fiona.

With the success of "Shrek Forever After" at the box office, they've been a hot item since their debut but the glass recall has nothing to do with the movie and "Shrek Forever After" is a great and very entertaining movie.

McDonald’s spokesman said recently that the amount of cadmium that the glasses contain very small, but “a little over protective level.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall this friday and
warned consumers to immediately stop using the glasses. McDonald’s said they would post instructions on its website next week regarding refunds.
