Mitchell International Airport

Mitchell International Airport was closed for several hours due to flash flooding and both commercial runways at Mitchell International Airport were covered with water. More than six inches of rain fell in the Milwaukee area- Thursday and it affected almost 8 million passengers. Airport spokesman Pat Rowe said that the tower air traffic controllers are accommodated in the evening was evacuated after a tornado warning. The storms together with high waters drowned the city forced evacuations and created a couple of rescues, city officials stated Friday.

Thankfully Mitchell International Airport resumed and reopened for arrivals and departures.
