Save chinese bears!

For centuries, chinese bears suffer between 10 and 30 years of constant and horrible pain and the saddest life one can imagine! A great and beautiful animal born to be free in huge spaces is confined to a tiny and narrow jail-like cage only to obtain its bile which is sold for treatments. (there exists a perfect substitute instead of this cruelty to bears) We must fight to end their agony and be able to return them to the free existence they deserve!

Jill Robinson, (Animals Asia Foundation founder) informs us that there is no worse torture to animals than the extraction of their bile for medical purposes. Thousands of bears are tightly jailed and tortured 3 or 4 times a day provoking intolerable pain and a permanent wound which can last up to 30 years!!! The extraction of this bile is used in traditional Chinese medicine which has nowadays efficient substitutes.

Their wounds(raw flesh) bleeding, swollen and infected ending up with a cancerous gall bladder.

The daily extraction of bile is made through a catheter implanted directly into the gall bladder. In order to prevent bears to remove this catheter they are kept in tiny cages for their entire lives!! When farm workers arrive, the bears start grunting, trembling and whining. Urinary incontinency is provoked in some bears, others even try to pull out their intestines because the pain is driving them mad!

For some years, things have started to change. There are more provinces in china without bear farms. In fact, the Chinese government does not authorize the opening of new bear farms. This progress has been possible thanks to the struggle and cooperation of friends of the animals and the Asia Animals Foundation.

Nevertheless, we need to multiply these actions in order to eradicate as soon as possible, this infamous practice. The efficiency of bile substitutes have been scientifically proven through laboratory analysis.
