I hardly watch plays, but I watched Daam & now I think I wasted my time. I really didn’t like the end. There was no need to introduce that fat ass Humayun Saeed. I liked the character of Junaid. Maliha was one selfish sister & friend. Zara was way too nice & unbelievable.
I don’t think a selfish & jealous sibling or friend ever changes. They stay selfish & jealous forever. Such siblings even destroy lives of other siblings & they have no remorse whatsoever. Maliha’s conscience couldn’t have pricked after creating that sort of mess. Some siblings & friends stay rotten no matter what. You may not like as to who is going out with your sibling, but I don’t think you have the right to buy your brother & his love. It was too low. There are instances in which people make friends for personal motives, but this was not so. I think Maliha was one rotten bitch right from the beginning. Everything was okay as long as Zara was not standing with her.
Friendship was very important to Zara & she just couldn’t think of getting married to a divorced guy having a child. That’s a very typical approach. Fine. She was insulted like hell. Maliha crossed all the limits of decency, but Zara could have shared that either with her elder sister or Junaid, but she didn’t. In fact, the character of Zara never shared anything with anyone. She too had that class difference thing in her mind. Although her status never bothered Junaid. Very conveniently she gets married to that fat ass Humayun Saeed in the end when Junaid was willing to take the stand.
I feel very bad for the character of Junaid. It seems genuine love only hurts & one is shattered beyond repair. People give hints & make promises, but they settle down with someone else & the funny thing is that such selfish people also lead very happy lives or so it seems.
How badly true love has been insulted! It had all been very practical. There is so much more I want to say, but I can’t. It breaks my heart to see that even those who genuinely love in plays end up being alone. This is unfair. It seems God hasn’t been around.
