Aakrosh

Aakrosh has been inspired by Mississippi Burning in which 2 FBI agents were investigating the murder of 3 civil rights activists. Of course they have added desi element & Aakrosh is, over all, a good movie. Ajay Devgan & Akshaye Khanna are the 2 investigating officers. 3 students disappeared & it’s the case of honor killing. Akshaye does everything by the book, but Ajay Devgan has no problem in bending rules as he knows the local culture.

No one used to speak up against crimes…the police was corrupt…there was a specific gang that used to kill people by using swords. People were not being wronged, they were killed & yet no one was willing to speak up or protest. It was an impossible case.

Anyway, both Akshaye Khanna & Ajay Devgan have acted very well. They are so natural & convincing. It seems as if they were really witnessing all that crap. Paresh Rawal is a corrupt cop & he has become Rani Mukerjee. Honestly speaking, it has become very monotonous to see him acting the same way. On top of it, he’s also over-rated like Mr. Perfectionist (read Aamir Khan). Bipasha Basu has a very small role. She’s an abused wife of Paresh Rawal.

I really liked one of the dialogues:

‘Confidence bari kutte cheez hai. Agar nishanay pay lag jaye tou kamal hai.’

You even love Akshaye when he says: ‘Warrant hai…chalay ga tou tera baap bhi.’ In fact, I watched this entire movie, cause of Akshaye Khanna. He never ever comes in bad movies. And he is so good-looking. Indian guys are such charmers.

Well Aakrosh is a must watch. By the way, one of the missing students was a total Bihari. He loved a girl who was from the upper class & that is why he was killed. His friends were killed, as he had been killed & the police didn’t want to take any kind of risk. Killing anyone was not a problem at all. At various points, this movie is extremely depressing & scary, cause such things happen on a daily basis in real life & nothing has ever been done.
