Deepika- Imran jodi a hit, Lara endorsing cereals & Akshay wants a big hit

Break Ke Baad has grossed Rs16 crore during its first weekend in the domestic market, said the film’s publicist.

"Break Ke Baad has been good with close to 70 per cent weekend occupancy. Youngsters are liking it. It is a very contemporary movie and they are associating with it," said RK Mehrotra

RK Mohan, an executive from Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai, added: "Break Ke Baad is going well and the shows are going on in full swing. Allah Kay Banday, on the other hand is not doing that great."

Directed by debutant Danish Aslam, the romantic comedy talks about modern day relationships and features Deepika Padukone in the female lead.

Actress Lara Dutta, who recently launched her DVD on yoga, has been appointed the brand ambassador of Kellogg's breakfast cereal brand Special K.

"With Special K, I know I have a low-fat breakfast option to start my day. Plus, it helps keep me full and leaves me with energy to grapple with my long day ahead. And, the best part is that I love the taste," the former Miss Universe said in a press statement.

The 32-year-old, last seen in Housefull, says she connects well with the product. "I can relate to the Special K woman - I enjoy the confidence that comes from loving your body, and I also try to keep a positive and simple approach to things, including managing my weight," she added.

Akshay Kumar's last two outings - Khatta Meetha and Action Replayy - failed to make the cash registers jingle. This hasn't dampened the Bollywood star's spirit but he admits he is craving for a big hit and hopes his Tees Maar Khan will hit bull's eye.

"If you follow my career graph, there have been a lot of ups and downs. It doesn't matter. I am not desperate, but, yes, I crave for a big hit all the time because I work very hard. I release around four films a year. I work very hard in each and every film," Akshay told IANS in an interview.

His last release was Action Replayy and the 43-year-old star feels either the screenplay or his retro look in Action Replayy couldn't connect with the audience.

"Action Replayy didn't work. It couldn't connect with the audience. I tried to reason out and I think it would be because of the look or because of the screenplay," said Akshay

Right now he is looking forward to his action-packed fun film Tees Maar Khan, which is scheduled for a Christmas release. Director Farah Khan is presenting him as a conman.

"This is a fun character. He (the character) is a conman and so there is a lot of mischief. The character is actually very shrewd. He always tries fooling people because he wants to make it big. He never does anything himself; he makes people do things for him. I haven't done such a fun role for a long time," said Akshay.
