Radiation Exposure in the Philippines

A second explosion has occurred Monday at a nuclear power plant in Fukushima, Japan according to Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency. Japan's chief cabinet secretary, says that it was "unlikely the explosion released large amounts of radiation."

Text message started circulating in the Philippines- March 14, 2011 saying that radiation from a nuclear plant in Japan has reached the Philippines as well as other Asian countries and could cause radioactive clouds and pour acid rain that causes worries and concern to many people especially here in the Philippines. It's very dangerous to our health and may cause cancer and heart failure.

Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) denies these rumors. PAGASA's Aldczar Aurelio also said that Japan's winds are moving away from our country.
