After feeling so devastated and depressed about my Lumbar Levoscoliosis diagnosis, we seek for a second opinion hoping there would be a less-depressing result of what really is going on with me.
Mom brought me to Polymedic Clinic last Wednesday and a per the doctor’s findings… the real cause of my agony is not my scoliosis but rather an abnormality in the response of my nerves. But he has to make sure of it so he referred me to undergo a series of tests—EMG & MRI.
And so as advised, I underwent an EMG. But oh God, all I can say is that was such a painful and excruciating experience. Para akong kinuryente (intentionally) nang hindi mabilang kung ilang beses. The electric shock was really intense that it could throw my whole body in an instant.
Second, the doctor had to puncture my whole body with a disposable needle for somehow 13-ish times. (Imagine that?! Para akong dart board na tinutusok tusok). Worst, the doctor was not even accommodating, approachable, and nice at all. He’s such a snob, so no wonder I felt discomfort throughout the entire session.
I just saw myself in tears (again) the entire procedure. Aww! Poor little daddy’s girl. I’m just thankful that Mom was there with me, holding my hands and kept on telling me that I am a strong woman.
Good thing, there was an evaluation form that they asked me to fill-out after the session. That way, I had a way to get back to them. haha!
But that doesn’t end there. I still have to undergo another test, they called MRI on Tuesday. So pray for me… and help me Lord.
After MRI, that’s the time my doctor can really tell me what treatments to take for my suffering back. But atleast, my Mom and I doesn’t have to worry about any possible, worsen fracture in my scoliosis.
We never regretted that we took a second opinion.
