Popular 60s and 70s singer Hasnah Haron, 64, died of cervical cancer at the Sultan Ismail Hospital here about 8am today.
Her daughter Haslinda Mohd Eunos, 39. said her mother was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday for breathing difficulties.
"But her condition turned critical at 3pm Sunday and she died surrounded by all her five children this morning," she said.
The late Hasnah was diagnosed with cancer two years ago.
She was buried at the Mahmoodiah Muslim cemetery here after the midday prayers.
Hasnah was popular for the music of the era known as 'pop yeh yeh' with songs such as 'Bersedih' 'Sabar Menanti' and 'Siti Zubadah'.
Present to pay their last respects were her fellow artistes, S.Mariam, M.Fadhil, A.Halim, M.Ishak and A.Rahman Onn.
