The Guatemala sinkhole opened up on Sunday in Guatemala City following a drenching by tropical storm Agatha. The sinkhole is 60 meter deep and approximately 30 meter radius according to reports. People in the area said that the sinkhole had been caused by the poor underground waste drainage system. According to scientists, this situation happens from time to time when major storms come. It is due to the unstable geology.
Guatemala sinkhole has killed more than 100 people and a man was killed when the building was dropped down because it opened so widely and so quickly. According to some reports 54 people are missing and many are in temporary shelters.
The picture was released by the government of Guatemala upon realizing the fact that a Guatemala sinkhole was actually existing after the hit.
