Help Save Polar Bears

Climate change and habitat loss are threatening to send these Arctic survivors to the brink of extinction in America, yet plans persist for destructive oil and gas drilling in vital polar bear habitat.

Help save polar bears and their homes. Urge President Obama to protect essential polar bear habitat in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and in the Chukchi Sea off Alaska's coasts. Unless we act now, America's wild polar bears could disappear forever.

Alaska Earthquake Information Center

Earthquake strikes near Anchorage. The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says a magnitude 5.0 earthquake has rattled Anchorage and other communities in south central Alaska but there were no reports of damage.

Geophysicist Randy Baldwin of the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden Colorado, said the Centers website has received over 600 reports from those who felt the quake.

Save America’s Wolves

Alaska's majestic gray wolves are in grave danger. The state has issued permits to aerial gunners and pilots to chase the wolves, run them to exhaustion and shoot them from the air or to land and shoot them at point-blank range. Hundreds of wolves have already been killed, and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her allies are targeting hundreds more this year!

Over the past five years, Alaska’s aerial hunting program has claimed the lives of more than 800 wolves. During these hunts, wolves are shot from the air or chased by airplanes to the point of exhaustion before the pilot lands the plane and a gunner shoots the animals point blank.
