Get A Grip Nation - Cherish The Good Times!

Well I already wrote before when I saw the silly Pepsi ad that what if we end up losing against India? Will we again blame our team and curse them like the ancient routine?

I am more than happy with my team and Shahid Afridi. Let us all look back and remember that when the team went for the World Cup, all the so called critics made fun of the team that it was a 'tooti phooti' team. No body even expected them to make it to the semi finals in the first place.

In fact, I really felt for Afridi when the poor man had to apologize to his nation for not winning the match against India because he knows back home people are so emotional and sentimental.

My issue is not with the cricket team but with the nation itself who can not take a game as a game. When they win, everybody wants to take the credit on their prayers but if they will lose then it is because they have fixed the match. No other nation reacts like this...England, Australia, West Indies, New Zealand - they love cricket too immensely but no body reacts the way we do. In fact, just look at the irony that cricket is England's national game and the country has not won a single world cup as yet but their nation does not curse them.

Let us not even bring the political shit here because that too has it toll on our team quite often but it is our behavior as a nation that sucks. Very snobbish facebook and twitter updates way before the match even began were posted. People were using words like 'badlay ki pyas'. 'Munni teri badnam hai or Sheila teri jawan hai'. Along with it, the advertisers also capitalized on the over all cheapness to trigger more sentiments of hatred.

Then we lost. People started changing their green pictures on networking sites immediately. They posted their team lost on purpose. They think the match was fixed. My friends - who are now restricted to social networking sites posted 'Today cricket died'. Then they followed everybody's message and posted, 'We love Shahid Afridi and he should not say sorry'. Next they posted 'Let us all wear our green shirts to support Shahid Afridi'.

I just feel there is too much of confusion. Everybody is following each other blindly. Don't you have a friggin brain of your own. Can't you stick to what you believe. Do you believe in cricket or is it about your own individual egos?

Yes, it hurts to lose an important match. We had a great opportunity to win the world cup after 1992 but come on, get a grip and become more sane. It is more important to cherish the good times than to miserably look at the bad stuff.

I think Shahid Afridi was the most impressive dude ever this time round. His comments and conferences were amazing. He spoke like a true sportsman and has this genuineness about him. Totally cute! Loved his response!

Arbaaz Khan agrees to compensate Razia Beghum's family for 'Munni Badnaam'

Says Arbaaz, "Every week we've someone or the other claiming to be the original composer-singers of 'Munni Badnaam'. I can understand the eagerness to make a claim over something as successful as this song. The truth of the matter is, the original version of 'Munni Badnaam' ('Launda Badnaam') is a paaramparik (traditional) song. It therefore belongs to no one and everyone."

Arbaaz further explains, "When someone comes to me with a script, I don't ask him where it came from, its origins, is it taken from a Hollywood films, etc etc. I presume it is original and that there will be no copyright issues. Similarly with a song, the composer (Lalit Pandit) played 'Munni Badnaam' for me. I liked it. I reserved it for my film. End of matter."

However, on humanitarian grounds, Arbaaz is willing to provide a token amount of money to Razia Beghum's family. "I understand where they come from. I understand how much the money would mean to them. Although legally we don't owe them any money, on humanitarian grounds because they've a link with the song, I'm willing to offer them a token amount. They can come to me next month after the New Year's and I'll hand over the cheque to them."

Arbaaz is clearly unhappy with Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari's involvement with the matter. "He first objected to my tweeting on Ashmit Patel asking my followers on Twitter to vote for Ashmit. Why not? He is my friend. And if I've a platform to support him, why shouldn't I? And by the way I also tweeted for Seema Parihar. But she was evicted. So it's not as if the voting pattern is influenced by my tweets."

Arbaaz is exasperated by Tiwari's attempts to get singers compensated for 'Munni Badnaam'. "He first said Tarabano Faizabadi should be given money. He then said Razia Beghum. Why should I give money on his say-so? We have a heart and we in this family know how to be charitable."

Hottest Items Songs of 2010

Though Bollywood is always talking about item songs every year, 2010 was surely an year of unforgettable item songs.

The toughest competition is between Munni Badman Huee of Dabangg and Sheila Ki Jawani from Tees Maar Khan. Most websites are running poles between which of these two would be the most popular one. Malaika Arora and Katrina Kaif have made audience and media crazy with their dance and looks. The songs themselves are pretty good. Personally, I feel Munni Badnam Huee has more fun and witty lyrics while Sheila Ki Jawani is a silly fun song for girls with pretty looks and less brains some how.

The 2010 Top Item Songs Are:

1. Sheila Ki Jawana from Tees Maar Khan with Katrina Kaif
2. Munni Badnaam Huee from Dabangg with Malaika Arora Khan
3. Tere Ishq Se Meetha Kuch Bhi Nahi from Aakrosh with Sameera Reddy
4. Neeyat Kharab Hai from Teen Patti with Maria Gopez
5. Ishq Barse Boondan from Rajneeti with Barkha Bisht
6. Aaila Re from Khatta Meetha with Kainaat Arora

'Munni' Malaika shoots Zandu Balm commercial with Suriya and NTR Junio

Malaika recently shot for the Zandu Balm commercial in 3 different languages namely Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. While the Hindi commercial features only Malaika, in the Tamil one, she would be seen alongside South superstar Suriya and in the Telugu one alongside NTR Junior. All the three commercials have been choreographed by Prabhudeva.

'Munni' is ready for Zandu Balm

Malaika Arora Khan is set to shake a leg with southern stars Suriya and Junior NTR in a new commercial for Zandu Balm, an Emami product.

The bosses at Emami were upset when their brand name was used in the hit song 'Munni badnaam hui', which was picturised on Malaika, but later they sorted out their differences and roped in the actress as their brand ambassador.

"It's like deja vu. I'm thrilled to be dancing to 'Zandu balm' all over again, it brings back memories. It is a fun song and I am very pleased to be associated with the 100-year-old brand 'Zandu'," Malaika said.

Tamil superstar Suriya and Telugu actor Junior NTR have also been roped in as the brand ambassadors and the trio will be seen dancing to the tune of 'Main Zandu Balm Hui, Darling Tere Liye' in the ad.

Farah Khan all set for Tees Maar Khan Promotion

Farah Khan is all set to make sure the masses notice the music of Tees Maar Khan. She has no doubts that with songs such as Sheila, people are bound to notice the film and its music. Their main aim is to beat Munni Badnaam Huee and make Sheila the best song for the year.

Resultantly, elaborate plans have been put together for a live show - all free of cost - designed for the 'aam junta' with Akshay and Katrina gyrating to the beats of 'Sheila Ki Jawani', Tees Maar Khan, 'Wallah Wallah' and more this Saturday evening. The event would be taking place at a prominent hotel near Juhu beach, Mumbai, and though it is not exactly a beach side concert, it is still in good enough proximity for the visitors to have a dekko.

Confirms Farah Khan, who can now be expected to plan an event a day as her third film enters its final leg of promotion this month, "We are looking it as a major event for the common man who doesn't have to pay to watch his superstars from Tees Maar Khan. We are having a song and dance event near Juhu beach where all key cast members from the film would be present. A band would be playing songs from the film while Akshay and Katrina would be jiving to the beats as well."

Though the team would have loved to host this event right on the beach, logistical challenges around the permissions and security meant that a hotel had to be booked to provide the services.

"Still, it should be worthy enough for the viewers as thousands of people throng the beach every evening in any case", says Farah.

No wonder, a crowd of over 10,000 visitors are expected to stop by and check out what their stars have for an offering. Rest assured, if Katrina indeed goes on to get her characteristic jig from 'Sheila Ki Jawani' out there for all to see - that too live - it could well be an event worth remembering for thousands out there.

Shiela Ki Jawani

There you go, this is one of the next top songs from Bollywood. After Munni Badnaam Huee in Dabangg, this is Shiela Ki Jawani from Tees Maar Khan. The song has gained popularity very quickly and I can see people are talking about it on social sites as well quite often. Many people they are victims of this song because everywhere they go, with whoever they talk somehow, Shiela Ki Jawani is discussed in one way or the other.

Katrina is looking seductive and sexy. She seems to have reduced some weight too.

The songs now are less beautiful or meaningful, rather they are catchy with a mix of english and hindi. All in all, they make good product in the end but I feel these things are still short lived.
