The World’s Hottest Volleybelles

The sand fairies
Sun, sea, sand and of course, the sexy players.

Miwa Asao

Thanks to her pretty looks, 24-year-old Miwa Asao is quite a celebrity in Japan and was often credited for popularizing the sport of beach volleyball in the country. It is no wonder she is called "Pixie of the beach".

Carolina Solberg Salgado

Not only is Carolina Solberg Salgado one of volleyball's most promising stars, she is one of volleyball's sexiest too. Well known for her powerful spikes and nearly pin-point accuracy, she won a gold medal in the 2004 FIVB Under-18 World Championship and the Under-21 World Championship in 2005. Carolina Solberg Salgado is the reason why we love Brazil.

Logan Tom

Her name might not be the sexiest, but everything else about Logan Tom is sexy: the 2008 Olympics silver medalist and Best Scorer was named in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women list in 2005.

Maurizia Cacciatori

With 228 international appearances, Maurizia Cacciatori is one of Italy's most decorated and most famous volleyball players. She was often referred to as the Anna Kournikova of volleyball and labeled as the sex symbol of women's volleyball. No arguments there.

Xue Chen

At the age of 17, the cutesy Xue Chen became the youngest player to ever win a major event. More importantly, Chen's combination of beauty and skill helped popularize beach volleyball in China and she was ranked third in CNN International's list of Asia's 30 Sexiest Athletes. We couldn't agree more.

Laura Ludwig

At just the age of 21, Laura Ludwig and her partner Sara Goller was already Germany's number one pair. And here's what we love about pretty Laura: she bounced back from a career-threatening stroke to win U23 European Championships. We have always loved a hot survivor.

Merel Mooren

Merel Mooren started her career in volleyball in 1989 - when she was only seven! - and later decided to ditch the courts and her clothes for beach volleyball in 2002. It was a smart move, because not only she became one of Holland's greatest; she became one of Holland's hottest athletes too.

Jenelle Koester

The 33-year-old Jenelle Koester is a walking legend in volleyball, especially during her college days where she is still the career leader in kills. As for beach volleyball, well, she looks hot in a bikini, and that's all that matters.

Raquel Caulkins

Gorgeous looks aside, the 28-year-old Raquel Caulkins is a hot-shot (no pun intended) in the Association of Volleyball Professionals league; she was named Rookie of the Year in 2009 and was established as a main draw player after only three tournaments.

Gabrielle Reece
Back in the day, Gabrielle Reece used to be a pro volleyball player, and now she is a model-slash-TV presenter. Doesn't matter she is not playing anymore, she is still a hottie.

Katie Olsovsky
Katie Olsovsky was an All-American during her college days, and a part of Team USA. And she's a giant too; standing at 1.90 metres. To be honest, there's just something about tall volleyball players that we absolutely love.

Stop animal abuse in China & Philippines

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be determined by the way it treats its animal China tortures animals while little children laugh and cheer. Help the animals who cannot help themselves from this horrific life of torture. Thousands die daily from torture!

Our Goal is to put the spotlight on China and the Philippines. Until there is enough outrage over their senseless torture of animals for sport, nothing will change.

Doljo Beach in Bohol Philippines

Bohol is one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines today. In going to Bohol you could go by air or by sea through a ship. Traveling by air is definitely much faster because it usually just takes about an hour while traveling by ship may take almost a day however it is less expensive thus saving you some cash. From Manila you can get a flight going to Tagbilaran. You can take any flight from Cebu Pacific, Asian Spirit, Air Philippines and Philippine Air lines that will first have a stop on Cebu.

There is also a boat taking you to Tagbilaran which is just one and half hour ride to save some money. The boat should be the fastest kind because the regular kind of boat usually takes four hours of travel. After arriving in Tagbilaran Doljo beach is just twenty minutes away. The best way to save money however is to take a regular ferry ride from Cebu which would go to Tubigon and then after getting there you should take the bus going to Doljo beach. The cost of an airplane ride to Tagbilaran is usually priced at two thousand pesos up to three thousand pesos.

Doljo beach is a beach located on the island of Panglao. This island is on the north western side of Bohol. This beach is three kilometers wide and it is not so much explored and developed yet. The sand is white and this beach slopes in a gentle way to the part of the sea that is deep. Doljo beach is also filled with many coconut trees which makes it all more appealing. The beach is also known for the beautiful and unique seashells. There is a lot of marine creatures that can be explored under the clear Doljo beach waters. There are local folks who have set up their own business by renting out chairs for those having a day trip like picnickers.

The first explorers to see Panglao was the Spaniards in 1803. The Spanish conquerors at that time saw some locals fishing by the shore and they asked the name of the island. The locals who could not understand them answered "panggaw" which is actually the device they were using to fish. Panglao came from the term "panggaw" which was a device used by Filipino ancestors for fishing. Today Panglao island is a leading spot attracting more tourists every year and Doljo beach is one of the main attractions of the island.

There are many attractive diving spots that can be found on Doljo beach. Some of the most popular spots are the House Reef and the Point diving site. The spots are teeming with a variety of corals and fishes. During the season where southwest monsoon winds is strongest then snorkeling is a better choice of activity. There are many resorts in Doljo beach which can offer an affordable price and it is advisable to check their website and inquire their current rates first before going to Doljo beach.

Peter Garant is writing Bohol Travel articles about Bohol beaches and other attractions around the island.

Philippine Election Results 2010

Philippine Election Results 2010- The Philippines had its first automated election. Some problems encountered by voters includes failure of the PCOS machines to acknowledge their votes due to several reasons. Many voters have to wait longer for their turn due to long lines at polling places. Comelec decided to extend the voting period until 7pm however, at 7pm, voters within 30 meters of voting precincts can still vote.

Early reports said Comelec reveals that Noynoy Aquino and Jejomar Binay, poses early lead in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential race.

Comelec said that results will be announced two days after the first automated election this May 10, 2010.

The May 2010 Elections in the Philippines

Philippine politics history has been well known for the events that occur every election campaign period. You can witness most of the politicians to perform on stage with different celebrities that have quite big fees to pay for. But what is it that makes this celebrities included on election agenda? Just like anywhere else, they add up to the popularity and the mass appeal of the politicians they promote. Filipinos are well known to be an avid fan of each celebrity, may it be local or international. The Philippines has always been a launching pad for a celebrity taking first step in show business. Classical Hollywood artists would always hold a concert every Valentine's day in the Philippines. Its always a sold out concert.

This observation has been linked to politics since most politicians running for office have always capitalized on it. They make it a point to always be associated with someone well known in the showbiz industry. The Philippines had once had a President who was a former actor in the late 60's. Said president was ousted after a couple of years in service due to some lawsuits against him. From that time on, it looks like people learned from the experience of putting a celebrity in the executive office. This was apparent during the next local and senatorial elections when some celebrities who ran for office lose the election.

Another thing to highlight is the incidents of killings related to elections. In local elections especially, there were reported incidents of ambush which is allegedly master minded by a rival candidate. Looking at the compensation of each elected official, it will not make them richer but considering the influence it will give them, it can make them richer than business tycoons. Indeed, corruptions has lurked in most government office in the Philippines. Their revenue bureau seems to be a structured organization with a process that will ensure check and balance. But this apparently would not suffice the objective of getting everything audited. That Department only collects tax. There are some municipalities that gives access to government officials to the city's budget. That makes it prone for corruption.

Still out in the news, you will notice every candidate includes a platform of getting poverty resolved. That's a clear statement that poverty is just around the corner. Every candidate promises change to this known fact about the Philippine economy. Sounds exciting for Filipinos however this is not the first time that someone would give such commitment. Corruption has indeed cluttered the opportunity to be economically advanced. Without resolution to it, whoever gets elected will not be able to change the lives of every Filipino. Maybe what they need are leaders who will serve them unconditionally, selflessly and would not intervene on money related transactions. Very few politicians have decided to sell their real estate to give the proceeds to their constituents. Most politicians after getting elected would make a good investments on government owned and subsidized businesses. Dirty politicking indeed. With the experiences out of 3 people revolutions that happened to the Philippines, we can look forward to a revolutionized politics that will be implemented after May 2010 elections.

Why Marry a Filipina Girl?

As an American married to a Filipina woman I often get friends and family ask me about what it was that made me marry a Filipina woman and not an American woman. The answer is of course that I love her and she loves me, but it's true that I did look outside the country for a wife. You see, I was married for 11 years in the US already and after a divorce I found that as a middle aged man in America, you are sort of expected to just fade away quietly.

Back in the states I found myself limited to only dating other divorced middle aged women, who were in many cases quite bitter and disillusioned it seemed about men and dating in general. You can only listen to enough complaints about their ex-husbands for so long. Most hadn't kept in shape either. Yet, this seemed to be the norm. Sure, it's ok to date younger attractive women if you have money and fame, but try doing so as an average middle aged American male! The looks I got from older women just from smiling at a pretty girl!

Fast forward a few years. A friend of mine had invited me to spend a few weeks diving in the Philippines. Married to a Filipina and running a small business there, he was happy and living a life he truly enjoyed. I booked a ticket and arrived in Manila with hopes of a break from the boring life I had back home. Little did I know the Philippines would make such an impression.

The first thing I noticed was how different life is in the Philippines. Sure, the Filipinos are quite poor, but they much richer in other areas than Americans. I was taken back by how happy and friendly the people seemed. There always seemed to be someone chatting, smiling, laughing and having a good time. Strangers sharing a Jeepney (sort of a improvised bus), would start singing together, girls in department stores would giggle, flirt and tell me that their friend was single! This was something else. I also noticed a much greater respect for older people. Family seemed the most important thing for most Filipinos. The older family members were taken care of and included in everyday life. Older men and women would still be full of energy and flirt with younger members of the opposite sex and no one would think there was anything wrong with that. I felt 20 years younger!

I have been married to a Filipino woman, 13 years my junior, who I met on a dating site, for over 5 years now and things couldn't be better. Filipino's are very adaptive and industrious people and they speak English almost as good as native speaker. Many men go to Thailand looking for a wife, but my friends who are married to Filipina women, seem much happier.

I found my wife on the dating site FilipinaHeart and I recommend it for meeting a genuine Filipino woman. I've also heard good things about Cebuanas. Just sign up and be honest about who you are and who you are looking for and I'm sure you will discover for yourself why marrying a Filipina is the best thing you can do!

2010 Automated Election - A Vision of the Philippines' Fight Against Corruption

Whether it is Noynoy who swore not to steal, or Manny who swam in the river of garbage, changes in our system must always comes to the understanding of every Filipino that everyone of us has the potential to choose to excel and to not suffer from poverty anymore.

Seeing the trend we have been silently keeping, it makes me feel devastated to know that in every average Filipino home, if the couple has 4 children, chances are only one of the four will continue in college, what kind of future will the other 3 will have? and to site another popular example, if the mother is a servant the greater the chances that her children will be in the same shoes too.

Now the purpose of this article is to somehow impart important reminders and precaution on how to vote wisely in this coming 2010 automated election.

I strongly believe that this automation is the first key to at least lessen the chances of manipulation involving our votes. We are assured that the system that will be used for this coming election is hacker proof, meaning computer hackers has no chance of invading the system hence sabotaging the election. Just to site few countries that have been using this system are USA, UK, Canada, Australia and a lot of highly industrialized countries.

Second, is up to the human responsibility. Knowing your candidates is the next step. Watch debates or forums and even go out and be part of the meeting de advance of the candidates. Use your ability to think and judge whether they are saying the truth or not.

Take note of what they are saying, don't be easily swayed by their sweet words and promises, remember that the future of your children and of your country depends on your ability to criticize and scrutinize each platform.

Thirdly, is be cautious of their campaign strategy, especially those who have been polluting the airwaves with their campaign ads every 4 to 5 minutes, it should be an interesting strategy of why spend millions or even billions of money for the ads in exchange what should be the price in return.

I have read an article from a famous author who has been observing politician's campaign behavior since Marcos' regimen; he said on one of his article that the Eagerness to win may not be the same as the Eagerness to serve. That might be true, genuine service to others can be done in our simplest act everyday, now the psychology of politicians is a different story.

We have been tackling this corruption issue since the day I was born, this might sound a little bit overuse now, but the liberation and fate of this country depend solely in the ability of every Filipino to think and observe. You don't need a degree to do that, you just need a receptive ear and a just mind.
