Martin Sheen Calls Charlie "Emotionally Crippled"

Martin Sheen with his sons Charlie (left) and Emilo (right)

Martin Sheen has finally talked openly about his disturbed but absolutely famous son - Charlie Sheen. Charlie had gone through a lot recently. He was the main highlight of media in the past few weeks. Now that Charlie has been officially fired from "Two and a Half Men", Martin spoke a bit on his son.

Martin Sheen, who is now 70 years old talked to UK newspaper - The Telegraph while promoting his film "The Way" with his other son Emilo Estevez . He said that he knew what "hell" Charlie Sheen is living in.

CBS, Warner Bros fired Charlie from the famous show on the basis of his dangerously self-destructive conduct and ill behavior. Charlie sued the company and the creator of the show because he thought he was wrongfully terminated. He made many public remarks against them also.

Martin Sheen, however talked candidly, "Charlie's 45 years old. He's not a kid. Emotionally he still is. Because when you're addicted, you don't grow emotionally. So when you get clean and sober you're starting at the moment you started using drugs or alcohol. You're emotionally crippled."

He went on to say, "But I know what hell he's living in. I've had psychotic episodes in public. One of them was on camera - the opening scene of 'Apocalypse Now.' So I know what Charlie is going through. And when you do something like that, that is out of control, that's the most difficult thing. You have to courage."

I think Martin Sheen really knows how to talk. He really spelled it out clearly to the media and at the same time spoke honestly about his son's behavior. I always liked Martin Sheen for his coolness.

Meanwhile, nothing stops Charlie Sheen. He is going on a tour to perform a series of unscripted live shows. Audiences are all excited about his tour already. No matter how messed up he is, his fans love him!

Lindsay Lohan is Drinking Again

Lindsay Lohan left her alcohol ed class witch a Kombucha tea bottle, which contains alcohol.

Lindsay Lohan seems terribly lost and miserable as of the latest reports today when she was seen drinking Kombucha tea, which contains alcohol.

Thus now the LA County Probation Department has one more thing added to the list of reasons why the judge should violate her probation and send her to jail. Her plea bargain keeps getting better and better with her reckless behavior. Or perhaps she is disturbed and needs attention. She is getting attention for sure but this is not positive in anyway.

I guess she has absolutely lost it. She actually left one of her alcohol education classes while holding a bottle of Kombucha tea. This is madness. She knows she is going through her trial for stealing a necklace. She already has a crazy past record based on her drugs and alcohol addiction. Now she had to show off her Kombucha tea bottle too at this time only! This girl is not thinking. She has no idea what she is doing!

Hypocrisy Once Again: Ban on Slackistan

It is a known fact that Pakistani cinema does not exist. Even our own actresses often say that we no industry such as cinema. I remember, Zara Sheikh said on a television show that our industry is working only because of God otherwise there is nothing left of it. We do have some nice cinemas and multiplexes opening up along with 3D cinemas also now but we don't have our own products to be displayed. It is something we all know, that those who go to cinemas only go to watch Hollywood or Bollywood movies.

The last movie that we were all proud of was Khuda Ke Liye that impressed critics and audiences internationally. So much so, John Abraham's New York was also inspired by Khuda Ke Liye and was more of a follow up plot of where the Pakistani movie ended.

Now, we have an independent movie called Slackistan which is directed by a London based film maker called Hammad Khan. The movie is about a group of youngsters in Islamabad but basically about a guy who wants to achieve his dreams along with his friends in the middle of a politically messed up country.

The movie got acclaim and appreciation internationally. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cannes, Goa, New York, London and Washington DC all looked at Slackistan positively but the film-maker and the cast of the movie were quite disappointed when their own country - Pakistan banned Slackistan.

So the way things are at the moment is that the Pakistani censor board banned the movie on the usage of words like Taliban, lesbian and scenes showing the usage of alcohol.

This is again another hypocritical act that we have seen again. Movies, art, music, theater are just another form of self expression but in Pakistan there is no freedom of speech and expression. Everything happens in Pakistan. Every possible shit and dirty stuff happens here in almost all the stratas and parts of the country. Talibans, lesbians and alcohol are all a reality - so what is the big deal if it is shown in a movie. Our dramas depict such stuff openly every day. Banning a movie only means people who are interested in this form of entertainment would love to watch it even more.

I Am An Addict

I have read and heard this many times that internet and virtual world is contributing greatly in isolating people from the real life to a virtual life. People who spend too much time on the internet and social networking sites  don't really have real friends and groups to hang out with nor do they spend healthy time in out door physical activities.

Thus now a study conducted by University of Maryland's International Center for Media and the Public Agenda and the Salzburf Global Seminar's Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change has proved the fact that people who use social media frequently are displaying symptoms similar to alcohol and drug addicts. They end up having physical and mental anxiety.

Now, the real issue is with social media entrepreneurs, marketers and those who have a job that requires them to work on social networking sites to share large amounts of information are the real target of becoming addicts. More on the article goes on to say that such people will have no friends when they will retire.

This is not a shocker...some people have such jobs and some people do it for fun. One is essential and the other can be controlled. Some people like to do hard core corporate jobs that can be really painful and stressful as well on the other hand and can be the cause of early grey hair, baldness, back problems and heart attacks.

But yes, the important thing is to be aware of such news. I say there have always been people who are introverts, recluse and who don't like to socially interact, much before the social media arrival. Such people are just never accepted ever.

Ok I am an addict too, I will take their words. I worked the same way when I wasn't into social media too. The choice is between working in peace and having fun at the same time and guess what I have friends too :)
