Canadian Monarchists Want Prince Harry To Become Their King

As time is passing by, it is becoming apparent that the future of monarchy in Canada is not at all certain. Some opinion polls suggest two thirds of Canadian population prefer the country to become a republic.

A major issue is the fact that the head of state only visits Canada once in every two to three years. However, royalists in Canada have a novel solution to this age old problem and that is to install Prince Harry as their king.

Although, Prince Harry is the third in line to the throne but with this solution he could set up a home in Ottawa, give a strong permanent Royal family presence in Canada and silence those who believe in having an elected head of state.

Perhaps, this is the kind of re-invention that the Royal family needs to make to handle this situation smartly with Prince Harry to set up a Canadian branch of the Royal family. Or if not this the future king should rotate to keep people happy - six months in Canada, six in Australia and six in London.

Though, I genuinely have no interest in the fake Royal family but I actually kind of like the Prince Harry to become the king of Canada option. Partly because I have always found Harry a thousand times better than William since my childhood. But then...it doesn't change anything. The Royal family practically does nothing. They are just like dolls all dressed up. There is nothing substantial that they do with their presence except have these pretentious events and weddings with lots of money.

The longest total lunar eclipse in 11 years occured Wednesday (June 15), turning the moon a dusky blood red that is amazing skywatchers around the world. See some of the first photos from the event here.

The lunar eclipse began at 1:24 p.m. EDT (1724 GMT) and will last until 7 p.m. EDT (2300 GMT). The eclipse's peak occured at 4:12 p.m. EDT (2012 GMT). At its best, the eclipse promised 100 minutes of totality, making it the longest total lunar eclipse since July 2000.


"Awesome! We  have a perfect view from our neighborhood in Jerusalem, Israel," skywatchers Cecile and Roberta Cohen told SPACE.com in an email. "We started seeing it at 9 p.m. At 10:20 (give or take a minute) the moon was totally eclipsed. We came indoors shortly thereafter because it's cool out, but we can see the moon from our window. Awesome; just awesome!" Justin Bieber egg attack in Sydney, Australia

Canadian Pop star Justin Bieber recently got egged during his performance at the city’s Acer Arena last Friday -April 29.

According to reports, an Australian male teenager broke into the roof of the Acer arena where Justin Bieber was performing. The teenager was charged after allegedly throwing eggs on Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

Broadcasters Ban 'The Simpsons'

Germany, Australia and Switzerland have decided to ban episodes of The Simpsons that make fun of nuclear disasters keeping in mind of what just recently happened in Japan - the radiation issues at the nuclear plant.

The broadcasters said that they will not cut scenes but just ban the episodes with such content. So, far a total of eight such episodes have been banned. In one of the episodes scientist Marie and Pierre Curie died of radiation poisoning, which is not a nice thing to show.

The nuclear plant in Springfield is one of the key elements in the running satirical cartoon that is the highlight of such an action. Though Homer is in charge of the safety but often the story shows negative scenes like once they showed nuclear waste was dumped in children's playground. Similarly, they have shown plutonium used as a paper weight. They have also shown three-eye mutant fish, melt downs and cracked cooling towers during various episodes.

Although the opening credits already clarify the satirical approach but in light of the things in reality, the broadcasters felt it is better to avoid showing such episodes.

Royal Couple Doesn't Want Any Wedding Gifts

Prince William and his soon to be bride Kate Middleton have asked their wedding guests and well wishers for donations for a special charitable fund instead of giving them any wedding gifts. St. James Palace has announced this news.

The couple thought about it and have selected 26 charities falling in five different categories - children, arts and sports, conservation, service personnel, help and care at home. The guests can donate to any charity they like through the website: www.royalweddingcharityfund.org/.

Most of the charities are very small and they need donations to operate well and continue their noble cause. The list of charities includes anti-bullying group, a dance group, a charity for army widows and Earthwatch - a community of scientists and environmentalists. Some of them work with disadvantaged young people while some are based in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

It seems William has taken this compassionate side from his late mother, Princess Diana who despite of her troubled life always went out of her way to help the unfortunate and less privileged beings around the world. It is said that both Kate and William have been associated with charity work before. This was something different and I didn't really expect a kind announcement of the sort from the royal family. And I guess with Prince Andrew's shameless history, such kindness and consideration would be quite a delightful thought for the Britain and the royal family members.

Australia's camel slaughter

We have recently learnt that the Kevin Rudd administration has planned to cull 650,000 camels in Australia's outback. This is in response to controlling the camel population which is said to cause widespread havoc by trampling vegetation and 'encroaching' on human territory. We fail to realize that they were first introduced by us to help explorers travel through the Australian desert. It’s heartbreaking to see that we consider them so easily disposable. What of the pregnant mothers and babies? What if we control them to the extent that one day we inadvertently wipe out this most beautiful and useful of species?

We, therefore, appeal to the Kevin Rudd administration to find an alternate solution to this problem which we ourselves have created. Do not be so heartless. The human population is increasing at an alarmingly fast rate. Should we, then, organize death squads to control our reproduction?

Think rationally and humanely.

We the undersigned implore your government to dismiss the plan on camel slaughter and fine alternate means to control the population.
