Amid tight security, Casey Anthony, a Florida woman found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, walked out of a Florida jail early on Sunday.


Witnesses saw Anthony, who had been acquitted on July 5 of culpability in Caylee's death, exit escorted by guards wearing bullet-proof vests and carrying rifles, and stepped into a black SUV a few minutes after midnight. The Orange County Jail later confirmed her release.

A crowd of 300 had been waiting since midafternoon Saturday for Anthony's release, and many rushed into the street to follow the vehicle as she was driven away, briefly blocking the eastbound lanes of a six-lane road before police cleared them away.

Many carried signs for and against Casey Anthony, and some chanted Caylee's name.

A large police presence included the sheriff's mobile command center, five horse-mounted officers and at least 20 uniformed officers on foot, many wearing bullet-proof vests. Three news helicopters hovered overhead.

Since her acquittal, Anthony's future after three years in jail has been the subject of much speculation, but with no publicly known facts beyond her jail departure date.

Pool reporters inside the jail saw Anthony and her attorney Jose Baez whiz by them in the lobby and exit swiftly through the front door.

"She was just tunnel vision on that door," said Tony Zumbado, an NBC News cameraman. Anthony's only words were "Thank you" to a jail sergeant, he said.

A second pool reporter, Matt Sedensky of the Associated Press, quoted jail officials as saying Anthony -- wearing the tight hair bun seen during her trial, a bright pink shirt, jeans and bright blue sneakers -- left with the $537.68 remaining in her inmate account.

CROWD WAITING
Lori Richards, 54, of Daytona Beach and three friends set up a tent at 3 p.m (1900 GMT) outside the jail where they huddled through a brief lightning storm.

"We're here to support Caylee and we want them (the public) to boycott anything Casey or any of the Anthonys do," Richards said.

Anthony's release had been planned with the same precision that marked her high-profile murder trial.

In recognition of the massive coverage expected of the release, media representatives and jail managers negotiated a plan which, much like modern war coverage, allowed embedded pool reporters and photographers to document her departure.

Anthony's trial revealed gruesome details of Caylee's death and the disposal of the toddler's remains in trash bags in swampy woods. The trial brought out evidence of Casey Anthony relishing her life, partying and shopping, after Caylee died.

Casey Anthony's parents and brother had testified at the widely telecast trial. Her lawyer Baez acknowledged her outward lack of emotion over the death was "bizarre."

Her acquittal was met with shock and derision by much of the public, egged on by outraged television commentary.

Charles Greene, Anthony's defense lawyer in a related civil defamation lawsuit, told a judge on Friday that he had received seven threats against her. Read More

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An emotional day of testimony from Cindy Anthony ended with her walking from the stand stone-faced and without a single glance at her daughter, Casey Anthony.

Cindy cried as she talked about her 2-year-old granddaughter for hours on Saturday, but it's what she did not do that speaks volumes. Not once did Cindy Anthony look at her daughter during her testimony or while walking to and from the stand.

Casey Anthony stands trial for the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee. In the past, Cindy has been seen waving at Casey or the two exchanging smiles. Not on Saturday.

As Cindy walked to the stand, she kept her head down the entire time and did not give one glance at her daughter. While on the stand, rarely if ever was Cindy seen glancing at Casey. And when Cindy walked off the stand, she again looked down and was seen avoiding eye contact with her daughter.

What's behind these emotions? For an answer, Local 6 turned to body language expert Susan Constantine.

"She comes off the stand and there's not connection. She doesn't even look at the defense table," said Constantine.

As Constantine is shown video of Casey's reaction to her mother, she said Casey shows expressions of anger, sadness, grief and surprise. She said Casey's reaction to her mother's lack of eye contact was genuine.

"There are multiple types of emotions going through her right now," Constantine said. "She is probably feeling betrayed."

"They're on opposite ends of the world or they're not in agreement with one another," Constantine said. "When people avoid someone or avoid eye contact, there's a reason. Somehow maybe the relationship is breaking apart or emotionally they're at odds."

You might wonder what our expert thought about all the tears Casey shed when shown pictures of Caylee. Constantine said it's still a mystery whether those tears stemmed from genuine concern for her daughter, or for herself. Read More

How much sex is Casey Anthony having in prison? (Casey Anthony News)


After we watched Central Florida News 13 prattle on about Judge Belvin Perry’s blinking habits, we were intrigued to see how many other “body language experts” were raking in cash off of Perry’s eyelids, Casey Anthony’s quivering lip, and/or Jose Baez’s outstretched arm.

But when we typed in “casey anthony body language” into our Google News portals, we found this serious dissection that, despite being over two weeks old, still claims the sixth headline on the page: The article is titled “How much Sex is Casey Anthony having in Prison,” published by the vaunted “City Journalist Directory.”

Here’s a gratuitously large excerpt:
Our body language expert is of the opinion that Casey is sexually active right now as the trial progresses. This is assessed on the basis she has nothing to lose and maybe even something to gain because if she is sentenced to death and then reveals she is pregnant maybe that will save her from lethal injection or the electric chair. Outrageous of course impossible no sex is within her reach look she has nothing to lose, she is an extremely beautiful 25 year old by any ones standards and she has a fabulous sexy body. Look forget the round the clock CCTV cameras that are recording her every move that will not faze her one iota. She is a temptress and seducer and will be focusing on the men working for the Florida Department of Corrections. What have they to lose by having sex with Casey very little their job and maybe at maximum serving 6 to 12 months in jail on some charge that is trumped up by the DA or some prosecution attorney.

But here is the upside sex emotions for most men if approached by Casey would run rampant and they would for sure have sexual intercourse together! But what is likely to be an even bigger attraction than the sex is the money the man would get down the road. A film offer, TV appearances, a book deal and of course dozens of ‘tell all’ offers from gossip magazines, tabloids and gutter press. In other words millions of US dollars are up there for grabs. Plus for sure the lover will get all the sex verification action recorded on a cam phone or similar hand held digital device.

Bizarre once again sure – impossible never – possible for sure!

Casey Anthony case: Mom accused of murder chips tooth, busts lip in fall (Casey Anthony News)


On Tuesday, the Florida mother accused of murder, Casey Anthony, was scheduled to be in court for one of the many hearings leading up to her murder trial next year. She reportedly sustained injuries when she fell flat on her face while heading for the courthouse.


According to Allen Moore with Orange County Corrections, Casey’s “restraints became entangled and she fell forward.” The officers with her were unable to catch her as she fell. Moore made sure to note “this was purely an accident.”

WOKV reports that during the fall, Casey chipped a tooth and “busted” her lip as she fell out of the prison van at the courthouse.

The hearing went on without her, however, and Judge Belvin addressed several pressing defense issues. Read More

Casey Anthony Trial Verdict: NOT GUILTY Of First-Degree Murder (Casey Anthony News)


After 33 days of testimony, 400 pieces of evidence and more than 90 witnesses, the jury in the Casey Anthony case has reached a verdict.

After just a day of deliberation, jurors informed the court at midday that they had reached a decision, and both sides in the case were ordered to assemble in the courtroom. The verdict is expected to be read at 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time.

Anthony has been found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter. She was also found not guilty of aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. But she was convicted on charges of misleading law enforcement.

The case against Anthony was mostly circumstantial, but as it unfolded she was portrayed in the trial as a promiscuous, self-centered woman who became a cold-blooded killer. The motive, prosecutors alleged, was to allow her to live a carefree life without her daughter.

The state's case theory was that a desperate Anthony used chloroform to subdue her daughter and then suffocated her with duct tape. Anthony then fabricated fantastic lies to cover up her deeds, they said.

Anthony's attorney Jose Baez told the jury his client was the victim of an abusive upbringing.

According to Baez, Casey Anthony and her father, George Anthony, were home alone on June 16, 2008, when they noticed Caylee was missing. They began a frantic search, looking under beds and in the garage. Then George Anthony took the search outside to the above-ground pool where they found a lifeless Caylee floating in the water, Baez said. Read More
