Ashton Kutcher Being Criticized For His 'Real Men Don't Buy Girls' Campaign

I read that Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore's campaign against child sex slavery is a noble cause but is hardly getting the attention that it deserves because they are hardly focused on the core issue.

Their campaign is called 'Real Men Don't Buy Girls'. Their promotion videos make use of celebrities like Sean Penn, Jamie Fox, Drake, Justin Timberlake and others. These celebrity videos aim to spread the message to stop child sex trafficking.

Critics think these are just way too entertaining. They say that the couple are to be blamed themselves because their campaign seems misguided and not structured. Most of the stuff they talk about is not even related to the main issue of child sex and slavery.

The issue with their campaign is with the execution part as per the critics. People feel that serious issues like child sex trafficking won't stop with efforts of Ashton Kutcher in which they joke about the masculinity on men on YouTube videos.

Helen Popkin says that it is just another technique similar to the posting the color of one's bra on Facebook status to wipe out breast cancer. Just that video campaigns cost much more money.

Honestly speaking, I looked at this Sean Penn video and a few others also but I didn't find them that bad. I mean it is a smart way of communicating. Indeed different from the other very serious campaigns but their message is also quite clear itself.

None of the people who indulge in these acts stop their hideous acts just by looking at the celebrity videos. More or less these messages hit the rest of the audience more and they stand up for these causes with more conviction.

I don't think Ashton Kutcher's campaign needs so much of criticism. It is just a bit different from other such campaigns. When will people stop criticizing everybody. Why don't they do something damn boring and serious themselves to promote the cause instead.

Jennifer Aniston along with Demi Moore is Directing A Lifetime Movie

Jennifer, along with Patty Jenkins, Alicia Keys, and Demi Moore, is directing a short film for Lifetime network. It’s going to be a 5-part anthology of short films solely devoted to breast cancer. It’s a part of a series called Project Five. Which means all these 5 ladies will be creating & directing individual short films to explore the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives. I think it’s a worthy cause & a commendable attempt on the part of these ladies. However, the fifth woman is not yet decided.

Here’s Jennifer’s statement about it:

“Our hope with Project Five is to entertain, inform and inspire dialogue, research and prevention. Otherwise, our goals are small,” Aniston, 42, tells UsMagazine.com in a statement. “We want these films to move people and empower those affected by breast cancer to stand tall through this challenge, which impacts all of our lives, no matter who we are.”

Lifetime president Nancy Dubuc said she is thrilled to provide a platform for the group of women.

"I'm a big fan of this amazing group of powerful and creative women, and we are thrilled to be working with them on 'Project Five'. It's an awesome feeling to be able to give them such a strong platform to do what they do best - entertain and tell great stories - so that we all educate viewers about breast cancer through these five films of courage, love and hope".

Deemi Moore produced & starred in a similar kind of project which explored the subject of abortion in 1996.
