Mountain View, California-based Google Inc. launched Google eBooks earlier known as Google Editions. Google eBook comes with reader compatible for Android, iOS, web, desktop, Nook and Sony. It has 3 million public domain books for free anywhere.
The Company's goal is to provide eBooks that consumers can read anywhere. Users will buy books directly from Google or from other online retailers as well as independent bookstores. These books will then be added to an online library linked to a user's Google account.
Google eBooks started selling books today and might evolve into the largest bookstores in the world.
