Police Shot A Senior Arthritic Dog

I read a very sad animal story yet again this morning. This time it is about a senior dog Gloria in California. She was eleven years old and arthritic. The owner were out and the police came to check on the burglar alarm, perhaps it went on or something. Perhaps Gloria was protecting the house and the officials shot her down. They left a note then on the door, that in order to respond to a burglar alarm, their dog behaved in a threatening way and so in the line of duty they shot her down.

Gloria was a loving dog, loved by everyone. It was a sad and tragic end. Painful. The owners treated her like a family member indeed. And they are waiting for a complete report on what exactly happened.

For the future, they are trying to train officers in the Oakland Police department how to avoid such incidents and giving them animal sensitivity training. This is not the first incident. Eight such incidents have taken place and so it is time the officers are given serious training to handle things in a better way. Through this training they would understand the behavior of the animal through its body language.

This is the puppy that I want

In fact I have waited for a Labrador puppy all my life. God knows in which century I’m going to convince my mother. She’s a dog person…the best person to train a dog & yet she’s the most stubborn person I’ve ever met.

Actually Labradors get along with cats very well. They are tender & loving by nature.

Training is quite crucial. My mom & another friend who has Rottweilers…they say it’s how you train a dog that matters. Even Rottweilers don’t kill cats, if you train them like humans. In fact, humans are responsible for besmearing the name of certain breeds.

They make animals angry by poking at them when they are kids…later on, they blame the dog for becoming ferocious. I have even met some people at the clinic who brag that their wild dogs kill cats on a daily basis. It just shows what kind of a parent are you.
