How To I Register For Pottermore, How Do I Register For Pottermore, Pottermore Registration, How To Sign Up For Pottermore, Pottermore Sign Up, Pottermore

J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter site Pottermore announced Magical Quill challenge
The homepage of Pottermore has been updated to announce a Magical Quill challenge. As most Potter fans know, the Magical Quill at Hogwarts senses when a magical child is born and notes that child's name to become a future student at the wizarding school when they turn 11 years old.

The Magical Quill challenge will ask questions from each of the seven books over the course of seven days, starting tomorrow, July 31 – Harry Potter’s birthday. Those able to answer the question will add the answer to the end of the quill.pottermore.com URL, which will then lead them to a website. Once they find the Magical Quill on the website, it will take them back to Pottermore where they can register for early access to the Beta site. Those unable to register in time tomorrow will get another chance to answer another question the next day (and the next…) until the last question is posted on August 6, so don’t give up!

The following was posted on Pottermore’s blog which gives more details about the Magical Quill challenge:
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted the hidden link in our You ask, we answer’ blog post from 19 July, which took you to an interview J.K. Rowling gave in 2000.

In the interview was some interesting information about a Magical Quill, located in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Magical Quill detects the birth of a magical child and writes their name down in a large book. Every year, Professor McGonagall checks the book and sends owls to the children who are turning eleven, to inform them that they have a place at Hogwarts.

Each day for seven days, from 31 July to 6 August, we will be placing a clue on the Pottermore homepage to help you locate The Magical Quill. If you find it, you’ll have the chance to gain early access to Pottermore.

There will be a new clue every day, and each clue will relate to a different book in the Harry Potter series. On Day 1 the clue will relate to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, on Day 2 the clue will relate to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and so forth. The clues will also vary in difficulty. On Days 1-3 the clues will be harder, and on Days 4-7 the clues will be easier.

To find The Magical Quill, you need to solve the clue and add the answer to the end of the web address quill.pottermore.com/ This will lead you to a website where The Magical Quill will be located while early access places are available. The Magical Quill’s location will change every day. Read More

Speak Asia News, Speak Asia, Speak Asia Latest News, Bizbasket - Speak Asia COO arrested in Rs 1,320 cr fraud case

The first arrests have been made in the Rs 1320 crore Speak Asia fraud case. Mumbai police have arrested the online survey company's COO Tarak Bajpai and four other officials into custody. But the Singapore-based owner of the ponzi scheme company is still absconding.

"We have registered an FIR under cheating and criminal conspiracy (section 120b)," said Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy.

Based on a subscription model, Speak Asia collected Rs 11,000 from each member. The members were then paid for completing the surveys commissioned by various companies.

While many companies deny commissioning such surveys, the Mumbai police estimates that the total amount collected could well be over Rs 1320 crore. A case was also filed in the Economic Offences wing.

Once the scam was unearthed earlier in May this year, the members complained that they had not received the money promised as the company claimed its accounts were frozen. Speak Asia officials, however, claimed innocence.

"Their property must be attached and actions should be taken against other companies involved in similar activities under the Investor Protection Act," said BJP leader and complainant Kirit Somaiya.

The accused in the Pyramid scam have now been granted police custody till August 4 even as the money flow of Speak Asia is being closely looked into. Read More

Hundreds gather at hospital to mourn death of Joe Arroyo | El Heraldo Barranquilla Con Joe

Hundreds of fans gathered outside a Barranquilla hospital Tuesday to honor Colombian salsa legend Joe Arroyo who died in the medical earlier that day. The Archbishop of Barranquilla announced "El Joe" will be buried Wednesday afternoon, as his hometown of Cartagena decreed two days of official mourning.

According to Barranquilla newspaper El Heraldo, singer Willy Calderon joined the crowd at the hospital to sing in honor of the deceased "god" of salsa.

The death of one of Colombia's greatest salsa artists caused a wave of grief throughout Colombia.

"All media mourn the death of Joe Arroyo. El Tiempo brotherly embraces his friends and family," the country's leading newspaper tweeted. Numerous prominent Colombians expressed their grief over the death of Arroyo through the social media website.

The city of Cartagena, where the singer was born, declared two days of official mourning and ordered all flags to immediately be hung half mast. Music from the artist will be played in the historic center of the walled city to honor the city's "eldest son."

The governor ordered the official city banner to be brought to Barranquilla to be put over the coffin of Arroyo, whose body will be displayed in the cathedral of the port city where the archbishop announced a wake starting at 4PM.

"The Archbishop of Barranquilla calls on the whole community touched by the artist to respectfully and serenely live through these moments of sadness in which the best tribute we can offer is to unite the prayers of Colombians so that the soul of our beloved and always remembered Joe Arroyo may rest in the peace of the Lord," the Archbishop announced. Videos of Tennessee Baptist pastor Joe Nelm's pre NASCAR race prayer, laced with product promotions and references to his "smoking hot wife" have spread like wildfire, not only on YouTube, but on local TV stations and major cable shows across the country.

Drivers with their heads bowed, presumably to ask for divine protection before they jump into their cars to risk their necks on the track, were shown giggling as Nelms thanked God for the "Dodges and Toyotas," for " Sunoco Racing Fuel and Goodyear Tires that bring performance and power to the track." Snickering turned to outright laughter when he ended his prayer with a "In Jesus name, boogity boogity boogity, Amen." Read More

Dear Angie:

Last May we hired a contractor to replace our concrete driveway. He did a very nice job, but we now have a medium sized crack near our entry door that is difficult to ignore. Others have pointed it out as well. We spoke to the contractor who set up an appointment, but then was a no show. He rescheduled after we called him again, but again was a no show. We have since left several messages on his cell phone, emailed him, and left a message on his business line. No response. This contractor is listed on Angie's List. Aside from making a formal complaint through your site, do I have any recourse to get him to repair this unsightly crack?

There Is One Apple, But Many Microsofts: The Company You Don’t Know | brand-new operating system, cool new MacBook Airs and maybe-not-quite-as-cool-but-whoa-no-optical-drive Mac Minis

Apple’s customers (like me) got a brand-new operating system, cool new MacBook Airs and maybe-not-quite-as-cool-but-whoa-no-optical-drive Mac Minis. Meanwhile, tech and business reporters (like me) got a quarterly earnings report that had some of us (okay, it was me) making jokes about Steve Jobs diving like Scrooge McDuck into a room full of gold Krugerrands.
Microsoft released their quarterly earnings results, too. And they’re almost as huge. Redmond made almost $6 billion in net income on more than $17 billion in revenue. That’s a record quarter — and remember, Microsoft’s been making a lot of money for a long time, in much better economies than this — and a 30% jump in profits from 2010.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting: Microsoft scored its record quarter with mostly flat growth in PC sales — where Windows and Windows Live revenue, its biggest business since forever, actually dropped. Three months where the company didn’t release a significant new product. Three months where the typical Microsoft stories you read at Wired or elsewhere were about things like whether CEO Steve Ballmer should resign.

Apple crushed its quarter mostly because it’s been selling new iPads faster than it can make them. It’s opening up enterprise and foreign markets where it’s never found success before. Its most popular product is a store wrapped in gorgeous hardware its owners carry around with them everywhere they go.
Bloggers are writing Apple-inspired fan fiction faced with the prospect that the company maybe might use a fraction of its Scrooge McDuck money to snap up TV streaming service Hulu. I know it might not really make sense! And some of the sources leaking this story might be trying to goose Hulu’s purchase price or Apple stock! But who cares? It would be so awesome!
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. When a company is as successful as Apple’s been lately, anything seems possible.

Apple is cruising. Microsoft is scrapping.
And that’s why I think — against all odds — Microsoft has suddenly become more interesting than Apple.
For a long time, it was the other way around. Microsoft couldn’t make a mistake, and Apple was on the ropes, with no hope but to innovate their way out.
Like almost everyone else, I used almost all Microsoft and PC-compatible software and hardware, but Apple was always more interesting.
  • An all-in-one computer with no floppy drive? Wow.
  • A digital-only music player? That’s a cool idea.
  • iPhone? I never wanted a smartphone before, but I would really love something like that.
But now, even as I (like most everyone else) use more of Apple’s stuff, I think I’m more fascinated by Microsoft — particularly the Microsoft that most of us don’t usually think about.
If you walk into an Apple store, particularly if you play with an iPad or iPhone, you get to see almost everything that Apple does. It’s a monolithic company, built like a pyramid. All the pieces fit together, even the imperfect ones. Everything compliments and supplements everything else.

Microsoft, by contrast, is at least — at least! — three different companies. And since we’re all geeks here, I’m going to loosely name them after three different comic book iterations of Marvel’s superhero team The Avengers.
  1. Mighty Microsoft. The Microsoft everyone knows: Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, Hotmail. Boring, maybe, but still mighty. Every new version, every interface quirk, is a big deal. Part of our common culture that lives and dies by the PC business. This Microsoft was largely flat this quarter (although Office did pretty well). The growing-but-still-not-profitable Online Services division, which includes Bing, straddles both Mighty Microsoft and…
  2. New Microsoft. The Microsoft for which a retail store would actually make sense: Xbox 360, Kinect, Windows Phone 7 — everything from the entertainment and hardware division, which had a gangbusters quarter.
I’ll also include the amazing Microsoft Research team as part of New Microsoft. They’re the closest thing we have to the legendary Xerox PARC today (even including some of the same people). Microsoft Research regularly turns out great projects, some of which eventually feed into great retail products — although you could also call them part of…
  3. Secret Microsoft. This is the Microsoft whose services you end up using as a consumer even though you never see the word Microsoft — something that never happens with Apple. It’s also the Microsoft that partners with enterprises and governments and other corporations. The Microsoft, for which, unlike Apple, business revenue is never a surprise.
The ugly side of Secret Microsoft is the stuff that resembles patent trolling and rent-seeking. For instance, Microsoft makes a little bit of money on Amazon’s Kindle. Does the Kindle use Microsoft tech? Not really. But the Kindle uses some Linux, and Microsoft claims Linux violates its patents. So Amazon pays a licensing fee, because really, who wants to fight Microsoft?
Here are some better Secret Microsoft stories, which go a long way towards explaining why Microsoft continues to rake in money: Matt Rosoff observes that Microsoft’s quarterly report includes $17.1 billion of “unearned revenue.”

What’s “unearned revenue”? Money that Microsoft has collected up front for new long-term government and business deals, but which will be accounted for over the life of the contracts. So while Mighty Microsoft might not be showing big bank, Secret Microsoft just re-upped and/or upsold a whole bunch of the company’s best customers for the foreseeable future.

Another Secret Microsoft story concerns a subject close to my heart, the alliance between Microsoft and Facebook. Tricia Duryee reports on Microsoft’s latest work with game developers for social networks.
Microsoft gives the game developers prefab backend tools, all the boring stuff game coders hate bothering with, including stuff like managing user profiles and collecting and cashing in Facebook credits. In return, the game developers host their games with Microsoft’s Azure rather than a cloud competitor like Amazon. Everyone wins! (Except Amazon.)

There’s a great line in the HBO series “The Wire,” where one of the detectives, Lester Freamon, talks about a major problem policing drugs in any American city: “You follow drugs, you get drug addicts and drug dealers. But you start to follow the money, and you don’t know where the f— it’s gonna take you.”
I feel the same way about Apple and Microsoft. If you follow Apple, you get plenty of information about what’s happening right now in technology for consumers. When you follow Microsoft, you start discovering a lot more about how the entire technology industry works — and where it’s headed. Source This Article Is Here

Research In Motion (RIM), Stephen Hawking, Crackberry, Techcrunch, Amozon - First Nokia, Now RIM: The Mighty Are Falling

Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (TSX: RIM, NASDAQ: RIMM) is a Canadian telecommunication and wireless device company best known as the developer of the BlackBerry smartphone.

RIM is headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. It was founded by Mike Lazaridis, who currently serves as its co-CEO along with Jim Balsillie.

Research in Motion, whose Blackberry handsets dominated the mobile phone scene only a few short years ago, announced Monday it was cutting 2,000 jobs — about 11 percent of its global workforce — as it falls further behind the curve now defined by the iPhone and Android-powered smartphones.

In cutting workers for the first time in a decade RIM joins Nokia as a once-mighty player who couldn’t or wouldn’t adapt quickly enough to a pace of innovation and quixotic consumer expectations that has only accelerated since the introduction of the original iPhone in June 2007. In what seems like the blink of an eye RIM is now playing a game of catchup with upstarts Apple and Google — big, powerful competitors who came out of nowhere to to become chip leaders in the high stakes smartphone game.

Nokia got hit with the same head wind. The biggest phone maker in the world — 28.2 percent of the market at the end of last year — announced in February that it was ditching its Symbian smartphone operating system and replacing it with software from Microsoft.

RIM is now the No. 3 smartphone platform, behind Android and iOS, according to Comscore. In terms of handset market share it is fifth, dropping in the quarter ended April 30 behind Apple, which makes exactly one phone.

Until recently RIM primarily pegged its success to the enterprise, where IT departments in one fell swoop would provide boatloads of “Crackberries” to armies of employees. But the model is cracking. There is a growing trend of “Bring Your Own Device” — and the devices employees are bringing are increasingly not Blackberries. RIM’s foray into the tablet arena was anti-climactic, with the Playbook getting weak reviews and inexplicably lacking the ability to receive e-mail on its own. Indeed, the number-one tablet permissioned for the enterprise is the iPad, besting even all Android tablets and smartphones combined. The iPad even accounts for 46 per cent of activations in the financial services sector — one of RIM’s stronghold.

RIM won’t disappear any time soon, of course. But one of big factors determining success may be out of its control: developer interest. Apps are major driver of hardware purchasing decisions and here again Apple and Android are in the lead. Like Nokia, RIM plans to dump its current operating system for its suite of smartphones and adopt QNX, which already powers the Playbook.

It hasn’t said when. Speed is of the essence.
“I think the key here, more than ever, is when do their products launch and what kind of reception will they have and most importantly, when will QNX come in,” Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies & Co. Misek, told Reuters. “We don’t think those answers are here yet.”  Read More

Few takers for Noida Extension, worried dealers hire villagers as salesmen | Noida Extension Latest News, Noida Extension News, Sonakshi Sinha Fat, Noida Extension, Nefbwa, Patwari Village Greater Noida

On the dusty roads of Noida Extension, property brokers are fast asleep or are playing with mobile phones in their tents. This wasn’t the case last year when tents sprung up everywhere to announce the latest destination for affordable housing. Today, many of the tents are gone. In those that remain, brokers wait haplessly for prospective buyers to arrive and enquire about an upcoming property.

Spotting a Maruti 800, Sanjay Yadav, working for Sang Real Estate Solutions, rushes from his chair with the brochure of a housing project, which is in Haibatpur village. Some from the village, taking heart from the Supreme Court verdict that struck down state acquisition of farm land in Shahberi, have also decided to move the Allahabad High Court.

From their car, an elderly lawyer and his wife enquire about the fate of the housing project. Yadav tries to allay their fears. He tells them that he is from the same village and knows what its residents want. “We have been given 100 per cent compensation... It is unlikely that there will be a stay on the Haibatpur projects. And if a stay does come, all that villagers will possibly ask for is a slight increase in compensation.” Read More

Govind Tiwari, Hina Khar, Hina Rabbani Khar, Hina Rabbani Khar Profile, Hina Rabbani Khar Scandal | govindtiwari blogspot com

Govind Tiwari is trending in India (and globally) and if you are wondering why, well a simple and awful answer is that this guy (who wants to be your Orkut fraand) has an awful website: http://govindtiwari.blogspot.com/.

The site is full of dancing icons, rotating globe and not-to-be-missed Govind Tiwari’s blinking eyes. While this site will remind you of your geocities page, this is an interesting case of how consumers find something funny, start talking about it and the person starts trending worldwide!

This could be a case study for brands who are $pending $$s in social media to look at paid vs. organic creativity.

Most importantly, Govind Tiwari reinforces a belief that there aren’t any set rules for marketing – so stop wasting time and start experimenting.

Phone-hacking scandal could force Murdoch to let go of newspapers | Murdoch Scandal, Rupert Murdoch Scandal, Murdoch, News International, The Sun, The Times

Media analysts, who see newspapers as a drag on News Corp., hope the imbroglio will cause the conglomerate to take an unsentimental look at the relatively low-performing and troublesome assets.

In the eyes of Wall Street, News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch's Achilles' heel has always been his unabashed love of newspapers.

Now with Murdoch and son James scheduled to testify before Britain's Parliament on Tuesday, media analysts are hoping the phone-hacking scandal at the company's now-closed News of the World tabloid will finally convince the 80-year-old mogul that it is time to stop the presses that threaten the family empire.

"Investors hate everything to do with the newspaper business," said Rich Greenfield, an analyst with BTIG. "It is perceived to be the worst asset within News Corp."

In a global conglomerate with revenue of more than $30 billion and assets that include a major movie studio and broadcast and cable television networks, News Corp.'s newspaper holdings are one of the smallest profit centers.

The division, which includes British papers the Sun and the Sunday Times as well as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post in the U.S., will contribute about $6.2 billion, or 18% of News Corp.'s total revenue for fiscal year 2011 and $543 million, or 10%, of the company's $5 billion in operating income, according to estimates by Nomura Equity Research.

But Wall Street's concerns about Murdoch's newspaper operations extend far beyond their financial results.

Dubbing News Corp.'s newspapers "toxic," Nomura analyst Michael Nathanson said in a report issued Monday that the company should use the News of the World debacle to "take another look at its assets to determine which are noncore."

Shares of News Corp. have plummeted 17.4% since the scandal began raging out of control two weeks ago, erasing an estimated $8 billion in market value.

The imbroglio has resulted in the resignations of two Murdoch confidants and the arrest of one of them, and the collapse of a $12-billion deal to buy outright the powerful British Sky Broadcasting satellite TV service. In the last few days, the commissioner and assistant commissioner of Scotland Yard were also brought down by the fiasco.

Wall Street has never been on the same page with Murdoch when it comes to newspapers. But some observers point out it was newspapers that gave Murdoch entree to the corridors of power. Politicians kowtowed to the press baron and his papers in exchange for endorsements. Once inside, Murdoch's newspapers could also go on the attack, laying waste to any opposition. Read More

GPSC, Geme, Gamegape: DeKalb County School System administrator suspended

An administrator for DeKalb County Schools is being suspended for 10 days for selling a book he wrote to five schools within the DeKalb system, including one where he previously worked.

Former Assistant Superintendent Ralph Simpson agreed to the suspension after an investigation by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GPSC) found that he and a principal had circumvented the system, purchasing policy.

School spokesman Jeff Dickerson said that concerns about Simpson were first raised after the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported in July 2010, that Simpson sold more than $12,560 worth of copies of his book From Remedial to Remarkable to five schools, including Miller Grove High School in Lithonia, where Simpson had once been principal.

“The finding was that Simpson had sold a book that he had published to schools within the DeKalb School System and the sales of those books were done with public funds,” Dickerson said.

The school system conducted an internal audit and found that in 2007, several months after Simpson was promoted to assistant superintendent and departed from Miller Grove, his successor Selina Carol Thedford, who is also being suspended, purchased 600 copies of the book using school funds.

The school system’s policy requires that all purchases over $5,000 be approved by school staff and according to a case summary obtained from the GPSC, Thedford had originally presented a single purchase order for $9,600 but it was denied. Thedford then directed a subordinate staff member to split the invoice into two invoices of $4,800, which were then paid.

Dickerson said that immediately after discovering this Interim Superintendent Ramona Tyson demoted both Simpson and Thedford to assistant principals and they are currently awaiting placement for the new school year.

Leading up to the time that the audit was done the school system had no policy in place that forbade a school system employee from selling goods or services to the school system when public funds are used.

Dickerson said that after finding out about the sales Tyson and the board quickly put a policy in place to police such sales.

“She also put into place a new training program that starts this year and it’s something that everyone has to do every year, in addition to other ethics training,” Dickerson said.

Dickerson also stated that the money for the book sales have been repaid by Simpson and Thedford. Read More

Hope Solo is Still HOT Photos

Hope Solo is Still HOT  Photos - Hope Solo is the goalkeeper for the women's US soccer team that won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.

As well as being a statuesque beauty, Hope Solo also has a very cool name. If you got married to her, you'd have to take her surname. And then call your kid 'Han'.

Hope Solo had 3 shutouts in a row coming into a quarterfinal matcup against Brazil in the World Cup in 2007 when her dim coach, Greg Ryan, made one of the worst coaching decisions in the history of professional sports sparking a raging controversy.

He benched Hope Solo in favor of backup goalie Brianna Scurry, which rattled the entire team during a poorly defended 4-0 loss to Brazil. This was the worst loss for the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team in history.
Hope Solo stewed all game long on the bench and simply said at the end “It was the wrong decision.” That is the understatement of the year. Fire Greg Ryan’s ass now.

The good ending is that Solo was picked for the 2008 Olympic Team while Briana Scurry was dropped. The revenge if complete.

Hope Solo is the hottest goaltender in the world in more ways than one. Her naturally blonde hair and cover girl looks are surpassed only by her play on the soccer field. She is the world’s top goalie and best looking one too.

No, there are no lewd photos of Hope SoloHope Solo has not even posed for Maxim magazine. But she does have a great face and body which we expect to adorn fashion magazines in the future.
Hope Solo was born Hope Amelia Solo on July 30, 1981, and still makes her home in Richland Oregon. She is 5’9″ tall and her measurements are hard-hard-tight.

Hope Solo describes herself as a dork and is wonderfully single although she does not identify her sexual preferences. For hobbies she enjoys beach volleyball and snowboarding.
To complete her biography, Hope Solo graduated from the University of Washington in 2003. She was a member of the Gold Medal winning 2004 Olymic Soccer team as the backup goalie.

ang soo hoon, celine ng, celine ng swee peng:"Decomposed body at Clementi: woman charged with murder"

A 36-year-old derivatives trader has been charged with the murder of Celine Ng Swee Peng, whose decomposed body was found in Clementi Woods Park on July 6.

Ang Soo Hoon, who was Ng's housemate, is accused of killing the 37-year-old property agent at West Coast Crescent's West Bay Condominium between 3am and 9.50am on May 26.

The boyish, bespectacled Ang, looked worried when the charge was read out to her.

She appeared as though she had been crying and avoided eye contact with some 30 members of the public seated in the gallery, most of them believed to be Ng's friends.

Before last week's gruesome discovery, it was reported that Ng had been missing since her birthday on May 26.

She was last seen at West Coast Crescent in a purple top and black pants.

Ang will be remanded at the Central Police Division with permission to bring her out for further investigations. Read More

private investigator: North East private investigator linked to Gordon Brown hacking

SENSATIONAL accusations emerged last night that a North East private investigator targeted former Prime Minister Gordon Brown on behalf of unidentified journalists.

Amid an avalanche of new revelations in the phone hacking scandal, claims were made that Glen Lawson targeted police records to uncover information on Mr Brown.

It is not known on whose behalf Mr Lawson was allegedly acting.

The investigator, who trades in Tyneside as Abbey Investigations, said last night: “I have nothing further to say.”

Former Labour Cabinet minister Nick Brown also revealed last night that police told him an attempt may have been made to access personal information about him on official databases.

Last night, the former PM’s office said in a statement: “Gordon Brown has now been informed of the scale of intrusion into his family’s life.

“The family has been shocked by the level of criminality and the unethical means by which personal details have been obtained. The matter is in police hands.”

Newcastle East MP Nick Brown confirmed police told him “unauthorised disclosures” may have been made from the police and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) systems.

The revelations come after The Guardian yesterday reported Devon and Cornwall police discovered in 2003 one of its junior officers was feeding information to a network of private investigators. Read More

Jewel had a scare in her hometown back in March when a volunteer firefighter's truck crashed into the passenger side of her car. After a trip to the hospital for tests, the mom-and-baby-to-be were said to be "doing fine."

Murray and Jewel, who married in 2008, live on a working ranch in Stephenville, Texas, southwest of Fort Worth. "Dancing With the Stars" fans will remember the "King of the Cowboys" making it into the final four on the show's eighth season, when Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson won the mirror ball trophy.

The 36-year-old has been getting into mom mode for a while now, recording an album of children's music to be released next month and spending the spring converting a room into a nursery. Any bets on what the new parents will be listening to in the car? Read More

PAIGE DUKE Miss Sprint Cup Photos

PAIGE DUKE Miss Sprint Cup Photos - Paige Duke was one of three Miss Sprint Cup models whose job it was to do meet and greets with fans during NASCAR events.Last week we took a look at the 2010 Miss Sprint Cup lineup. This week we're spotlighting one of the new Miss Sprint Cups, southern belle Paige Duke. Paige Duke is a graduate of Clemson University, where she studied animal science.

Paige Duke is a model whose hobbies include horse riding, barrel racing, rodeos and shooting sporting clays. Paige Duke appeared in Brantley Gilbert's music video for "Kick it in the Sticks" and competed in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Model Search. According to a modeling Web site, Paige Duke was also a Hooters girl. Paige Duke is originally from Lancaster, S.C. Welcome to the Cup Series, Paige.
In short, it was an easy job with great pay and the opportunity to mingle with stars.

Paige Duke The 24-year-old beauty had a cushiony job that many young women wish for. However, this is another cautionary tale of what young adults should not do. Unbeknownst to her, nak*d photos Paige had taken at 18 for her then boyfriend had been circulating around the Internet. Paige Duke past had caught up with her in a vicious way.

A classmate from the college Paige Duke had attended, Clemson University, called her to tell her that he had received an email with nud* photos of a woman who resembled her. He forwarded the email to her and she just broke down.

Paige stated, "I just burst out into tears. I couldn't believe this was coming back from six years ago. I never intended for anyone to see them but my ex-boyfriend. I was in love with him. I was naïve and young."

Unfortunately, being beautiful, naïve and young is that's all it takes to potentially ruin your future career. Shortly after receiving the damning email, Paige Duke received even worse news. Sprint was on the phone to relieve her of her Miss Sprint Cup duties. The company stated her nak*d photos were contradictory to the "morality clause" in Paige Duke contract.

Speaking with sadness, Paige Duke said, "I understood. I was expecting it to happen. I was fired from a job I love. This job was perfect for me."

Sprint made the following official statement: "We wish Ms. Duke the best of luck in her future endeavors."

Through this tragic event, Paige Duke is trying to hold her head high. It is clear that Paige Duke has learned a valuable lesson the hard way. Now, Paige Duke wants to ensure it won't happen to someone else. It is always the hardest lessons that are most easily remembered.

Speaking about what she may do next, Paige said, "I can teach young girls that they need to learn a lesson from me, and hopefully, I can save some other girls from going through this someday. Anything you think is private probably won't be private one day."
