All male and female pack wolves take good care of the cubs.
Hunters are killing around 50-100 wolves every 1-2 days. The population of Arctic wolves is rapidly decreasing and we need to put a stop to this hunting of endangered wildlife species. The number of wolves killed'' legally'' only in Alaska through trapping and hunting has increased dramatically with more than 3,600 wolves killed in the past two years. Through extended hunting seasons and liberalized bag limits, the Alaska Board of Game has been allowing wolf killers to take more and more wolves in an effort to provide more moose and caribou for hunting.
The Arctic Wolf (Canis lupus arctos) lives in one of the most inhospitable regions of the world. Subjected to sub-zero temperatures, months of darkness, and no food. The main food source for the Arctic wolf is musk oxen and caribou although arctic hare and lemmings often supplement their diet. The Arctic Wolf is a subspecies of the Gray Wolf.
