I wonder if there is something like forever young. Growing up is of course mandatory & that’s why there are some who prefer to stay immature & it suits them also.
Unfortunately or fortunately, I saw Master Kareena on TV as usual telling all of us how young she is. I’m aware of the fact that it runs in that family. I remember even Karishma couldn’t help telling us a number of times when Dil tou pagal hai was released that Madhuri was her senior. Anyway, coming back to Master Kareena, she said that she had watched Akshay Kumar’s movies in her childhood. You must bear in mind that unlike other normal kids, Kareena must have been far too young than the word young. Sorry nobody can decipher how young these actresses are when they try to tell us that they are very young. As far as I can recall her elder sister came in the movies much before Akshay. And Kareena too has acted with Akshay in Aitraaz & Ajnabee.
It’s not that I have something against Kareena. She’s thousand times better than our models, actresses & TV artists. There are new kids like the daughter of Kamal Hasan. Who wouldn’t believe she’s not a teenager right now? She is & there’s no denying it. But it’s ridiculous to keep reminding all of us that you are young. Kareena does mention her achievement of size zero also every now & then. But I don’t know what’s her qualification. Maybe a little education could have made a difference. But then again who gives a damn to it.
Once I heard Nirma saying that if she is hot, what can she do? I think she is the only person who thinks she is hot, to begin with. She also brags about her rotten English & says that everyone finds it impressive. According to her, people say that when Nirma is around, everyone must speak in English. I have never been able to understand what kind of a complex is this, cause she is not the only victim in our country. We don’t attach significance to human qualities, but spoken English ought to be good or rather fluent should be the word. Good doesn’t really matter.
I have also seen that it’s not just Kareena & other women who are age conscious; even men have this complex. Almost everyone has become age conscious. Interestingly, I don’t meet anyone who is not younger than me. Everyone has been born in the 80s or 90s. What happened to all those who were born in the 70s?
There is a time when one is young & there is a time when one is not. Is youth so much important? Isn’t it just one of the things?
