Cover your bosom

Tartuffe: For Heaven’s sake! Before you speak, I pray you take this handkerchief. [Takes handkerchief from his pocket.]

Dorine: Whatever do you mean?

Tartuffe: Cover your bosom. I can’t bear to see it. Such pernicious sights give rise to sinful thoughts.

Dorine: You’re mighty susceptible to temptation then! The flesh must make a great impression on you! I really don’t know why you should get so excited. I can’t say that I’m so easily roused. I could see you naked from head to foot and your whole carcass wouldn’t tempt me in the least.

- Moliere

I read this play Tartuffe a couple of days ago & I did find this talk quite hilarious. And as usual a couple of things just came in my mind. Wearing deep neckline is a matter of choice. If someone is comfortable, then why should anyone have any issue about it? In fact, if people should start walking naked, I don’t think even that would be an issue…provided they don’t bother you. It’s another thing that I won’t start sketching.

Anyway the female character says: “I could see you naked from head to foot and your whole carcass wouldn’t tempt me in the least.”

Some guys are ever ready to drop their pants…they just can’t stay in their clothes…even when the other party is neither excited nor interested. They just don’t seem to get the point that a woman is not excited & in such cases, mostly there’s no connection either.

We happen to know this funny character…he’s interested in no one, but he falls in love with everyone he meets. Then there’s another one…he too happens to fall in love with every woman except his wife. They are all blessed. While scribbling this, I have a feeling it’s not love, it’s something else. Maybe it’s fun. But those who have that sort of fun with them…I wish I could know why they are doing this to themselves. Or do they really enjoy? My friends would puke on me for raising this question, but I have to. The thing is…Everyone gets tempted, but the person ought to be that tempting. Or maybe this is genuine love.
