Torturing the innocent

Yesterday a friend of mine narrated the story of Shelby. She has been rescued from one cruel puppy mill where she had been a breeder for 8 years. She has lost one eye. There was a time when she used to hear the word bitch & thought it was her name. She used to become happy after hearing it.

Shelby has been with my friend for the past 2 years & she’s not well these days. But in a way, she’s lucky as she’s now experiencing what is the right of every dog in the world. She has a loving family but there are so many who aren’t as lucky as Shelby, & they rot & die after being used & abused by humans.

This entire business of selling cats & dogs of course seems loathsome to me as many are being ill-treated. I have shared with you guys some stories earlier on too about animal abuse. Anyway here’s the story of Shelby in my friend’s words:

Shelby was a "breeder" for eight years. Her teeth were rotted out because they sometimes didn't feed her while she was pregnant or nursing and the puppies sucked all the nutrition from her body. She is missing an eye. She has a club foot. She had half her tail fall off after apparently being slammed in a door. Her rear was so coated in dried feces that she could hardly go to the bathroom--it was like a cement diaper. For the first year she lived with us, when she heard the word "bitch" she thought it was her name. She delights in rolling in the grass and getting to lick the bowl after we finish ice cream. She loves that we save her the last bite of dinner. She is afraid of thunder storms, but never before had somebody hold her and comfort her during one. She used to have bad nightmares and cry out in her sleep, she doesn't any more. She is one of many...many who suffered and one of FEW who escaped.”

Life is not cheap & by life I don’t mean just humans but also the life of any being on this planet. Puppy mills only insult life & all those who are quiet about this atrocity are the ones who ought to be ashamed of themselves. All those who say that humans aren’t being spared in this world need to shut up for a moment. Cruelty only breeds more cruelty.

End Animal Abuse in Canadian Puppy Mills

Ever wonder where the adorable puppies in many pet stores came from? The answer is not a pretty one -- puppy mills. Canada is home to a multimillion-dollar puppy mill industry, which breeds not only puppies, but inexcusable cruelty on a massive scale.

In order to make the greatest profit possible, dogs are continuously bred in very poor conditions. The animals have
no human contact and live in tiny, unsanitary cages that are sometimes stacked so that excrement and urine falls through, matting the poor animals' fur. Once the breeding adults are too worn out, they are often killed.Sadly, the industry sells many puppies with behavioral and chronic health issues.

What's worse, the horrible conditions of puppy mills are tolerated under current laws. Canada's Cruelty to Animals Act has gone basically untouched since 1892 and the outdated cruelty laws give very little punishment to puppy mill operators.

Ontario is the first and only province to enact legislation that covers puppy mills, increasing punishment for animal cruelty -- it's time to make this change on a national scale.
Urge the Prime Minister and Justice Minister of Canada to revise the Cruelty to Animals Act and put an end to animal abuse in puppy mills.

If anyone has problem, that person can contact the creators of these 2 links. I will repeat myself that when I provide the link of something, it is common sense that I haven’t written that stuff. And I’m not a reporter whose going to dig out things for people or take orders. Alright. Whoever has problem with Care 2 petitions should contact Care 2, not me.

Crack Down on Puppy Mills in California

Guys I need you to sign 2 more petitions. This one’s on puppy mills in California.

Puppy mills are inhumane commercial enterprises that breed dogs as often as possible without providing adequate veterinary care, food, water and socialization.

Assemblyman Pedro Nava recently introduced a bill to crack down on puppy mills in California. Called the Responsible Breeder Act of 2009, the new legislation would prevent the inherent cruelty associated with mass breeding of dogs.

Specifically, the bill would limit the number of intact -- not spayed or neutered -- dogs or cats a breeder can maintain to 50 animals, while creating exceptions for shelters, veterinary facilities and the like. The bill is patterned on legislation passed last year in Virginia, also with a cap of 50, and Louisiana, which imposes a 75-animal limit.

The ASPCA, Humane Society of the United States and Social Compassion in Legislation are working together to pass this legislation. Let's add our help to move California to the list of states that protect dogs in puppy mills and encourage responsible breeding practices -- please act today.

SEAL's Dog Killed: Give Criminals Maximum Sentence!

Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell's therapy dog was brutally killed by four young men last week. According to Luttrell, the criminals were cruising his county in Texas shooting dogs for fun when he heard a shot in his front yard and found his dog, Dasy, murdered. Luttrell chased the criminals through four counties and brought them to justice with the help of the local sheriff's department. Luttrell witnessed these criminals laughing and joking about their killing rampage, even after they had been apprehended by authorities.

Luttrell's dog, Dasy, was no ordinary pet. Luttrell is called the "Lone Survivor" because he was the only survivor from a 2005 battle that caused the largest loss of life in SEAL history. Each letter in Dasy's name represents his fallen SEAL team members. Luttrell was given Dasy during his recovery period after sustaining horrific wounds. Luttrell said, "I consider that dog just like a daughter to me."

Please sign this petition and help SPCA International tell the Texas courts to prosecute these cruel criminals to the fullest extent of the law. "You need to be held accountable for what you do," pleaded Luttrell on Glenn Beck's Fox News show.
