Kangna has her way with 'Tanu weds Manu'

Tanu Weds Manu', which will see the fresh pairing of Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan, was initially titled 'Manu Weds Tanu' but the name was changed at the lead actress' behest.
Director Anand Rai felt 'Manu Weds Tanu' was an appropriate title, but Kangana who plays Tanu in the film, insisted that the title should be 'Tanu Weds Manu' and not 'Manu Weds Tanu' because the narrative unfolds from Tanu's point of view, said a source.
The director was taken aback, but Kangana explained her point saying Tanu, a small town, wild girl, is the one in the commanding position compared to Madhavan's character Manu who is shown as a simple NRI guy in the comedy.
When the director spoke to Madhavan, thinking he would get upset, the actor saw the point immediately and readily agreed with Kangana.
"It's true that the film was earlier titled 'Manu Weds Tanu'. However, we felt that 'Tanu Weds Manu' was a more suitable title, according to the demands of the script. So we decided to go with 'Tanu Weds Manu'," said Rai.
The film will release Feb 25.
"'Tanu Weds Manu' is a lot of fun" - Madhavan

Though Madhavan has done relatively serious films like 'Teen Patti' and '13 B' in the recent past other than a dramatic 'Three Idiots', it is after ages that he is being seen in a romantic comedy - 'Tanu Weds Manu'.
"No, 'Tanu Weds Manu' is very different," said Maddy (as he is fondly called), "The film may be about a romance blooming in a small town but contrary to popular perception, these are people who are quite modern even though their values are pretty much intact."
'Tanu Weds Manu' required the cast and crew of the film to travel extensively right through the Northern part of India.
"It was one journey of my life," smiles Maddy who had a similar travelling experience in 'Three Idiots' as well, "We shot at places like Indore, Lucknow and Kapurthala. It was a very realistic set up. Having said that it was a lot of fun as well, something that I was longing for."
One hopes to have some fun as well when this Aanand L Rai directed film featuring Kangna as Tanu releases all over on 25th February.

Food not surgery makes Kangna voluptuous

No wonder, on being questioned if it was becoming a little embarrassing for her with media as well as industry in general highlighting these so-called facts about her own body through pictures and statistics, Kangna smiles, "Honestly, it was never annoying at all to read things about me. On the contrary, I really enjoyed all those speculative pieces that were being written."
On her part, Kangna had sent out a clarification even earlier by stating that she was shocked at the media reports and the truth was that she didn't have any cosmetic surgery done on any part of her body. In fact she had attributed the noticeable increase in her bust size to eating North Indian food during the shoot of Aanand Rai's TANU WEDS MANU and not being able to work out since she had hurt her foot.
"It is discipline, exercise and meditation which bring your real beauty out. This was exactly the case with me as well," says Kangna
"Everything has grown naturally for me. If I am glowing better than before, it is because any young woman starts shining as she moves ahead in her 20s. Same is the case with me as well," teases Kangna
