What a sad pic!

You could clearly see sadness in the eyes of this poor dog. It’s true we cannot help each & every animal in this world, but we can contribute little bit.

Lately we did contact some organization abroad & that guy showed interest but he asked us to contact some Pakistani representative who would know more about the country & could help easily. Building a proper animal shelter is indeed a tough job. But we know vets who are willing to help & these vets know people who are willing to donate. What we need is some space. Anyhow, Pakistanis have no passion whatsoever. Every Pakistani representative gives us the email of another representative. Fine. You cannot move your ass. We get the picture.

It’s saddening that people are working in such organizations & they don’t want to help out animals at all in their own country. Now we have to contact that other guy again.

I also know some other people who try to help out animals, but even they say they are all alone in it. Either people do big talk or they give you emails of other people. How can you bring about a change with this kind of approach? A particular person for the past 3 years has been running from pillar to post & nothing has been done. This must be so depressing for her.

You can only provide home to 30 or 40 animals in your house, but that’s it. We can’t accommodate hundreds of animals. In these so-called posh areas, they kill dogs just like that. And, for the most part, those dogs are not even dangerous. We used to give food to some dogs & puppies & they were all killed by these bastards. I wonder if there is an end to this madness.

Snowflake

SNOWFLAKE - IMPOUND ID#A1173354 - North Central Shelter - VERY URGENT

UPDATE: Snowflake came into the shelter pregnant and her babies were aborted. Plus she was splattered with paint that someone threw all over her. Let's show Snowflake that not all people want to harm her. She needs a home for Christmas! We must help her!

Snowflake arrived at the shelter (after being stray for a while) with paint splattered all over her head and body. They named her Snowflake because of her uniqueness and the pattern of the paint (which is wearing off). This sweet girl deserves a chance to live a life with someone who loves and cares about her.

Bound Angels assessed Snowflake (and made a video!) she seems to bark if you stand in front of her kennel but she is a wonderful dog outside her kennel.
"When anyone approaches that kennel she barks and regresses. She is a wonderful dog in the play yard, I've been inside her kennel with her without any issues."

To see an additional photo of SNOWFLAKE and a wonderful video visit http://www.petconnect.us/need-a-home_la.htm (click on dogs, then on Snowflake's ad)

She’s a SPAYED female, brown Labrador Retriever mix.
The shelter thinks she is about 4 years old. She weighs approximately 73 pounds.
She has been at the shelter since Dec 07, 2010.

SNOWFLAKE - IMPOUND ID#A1173354 - North Central Shelter - Phone: 213-485-5767, Address: 3201 Lacy Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031

Sunny...Extremely urgent!

Name: Sunny

Number A1043110.

Best Friends Furever (ppace@msn.com) will take this girl if we can find a foster.

A second option is for the foster to foster for BARC(city of houston).

Contact barc.aid@houstontx.gov or call Mauricio at 832-623-3871 to FOSTER, RESCUE OR ADOPT !

Sunny was scheduled for euthanization yesterday. She was stashed outside to keep her safe, and returned to find her kennel mates all gone! Her name says it all – she has a sunny disposition and really likes people. She only weighs 40 lbs!

Her pictures still don’t do her justice. She is REALLY CUTE, with fluffy hair around her ears, and the first thing you notice about her is those innocent eyes. She “escaped” her planned fate yesterday, and is hoping it will pay off for her in the end! PLEASE WON’T YOU CONSIDER SUNNY???

Please network her. We saw a lot of miracles last week, let's keep the momentum going. Thanks!

These are cats who were recently brought into the ACC. They are NOT on death-row yet, but many will be if they aren't rescued.

You can go into the shelter and adopt these cats IF they are over 8wks old (though I'd still suggest calling first to make sure the cat's available for direct adoption) but generally, if the cat's NOT on death row and is OVER 8wks old you can adopt it outright without needing a rescue to pull

Note that if their stray hold isn't up yet the animal won't be released until it's up!

Demand Reform for Harrison County's Neglected Dogs

You can't call the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, Ohio a "shelter." For one thing, it doesn't have exterior walls. The conditions are appalling. Water bowls are left to freeze over, dogs suffer from frostbite, kennels are left filthy, the deadly parvovirus runs rampant and the animals apparently don't receive vet care. They've blocked out rescues and volunteers who want to help, and don't keep the facility open often enough for people to adopt or find lost pets.

The Harrison County Commissioners actually defended the conditions at the facility, saying "We are a dog pound, not an animal shelter."

But as Robin McClelland, Executive Director of the Appalachian Ohio SPCA, wrote in letter to the County Commissioners calling for reform: "One can argue the difference between a 'pound' and a 'shelter.' Regardless of the label you choose, no one can argue that any publicly funded facility should be operated simply as a warehousing death camp for animals which fosters suffering, rather than compassion."

This is the link...please sign the petition. Thank you!
