I really don’t get how people drink eight cups of water a day. I usually only drink one eight fl oz a day. And apparently its better to eat five small meals a day, rather then three big meals a day.
my tactics are as followed.
have a normal brew at breakfast as opposed to the usual green tea.
listen to my “sleepy time” playlist all day as to chillax myself.
eat some dark chocolate at lunch. (even if it is the devil and makes me wince)
just before i go shot some vodka to steady the nerves.
then hopefully it’ll be low enough for me to be “normal” and not have to have a pissing heart monitor put on.
i should not be having these issues at 17.

I am not a veggie person, it has taken me some time to learn to love vegetables. I cannot say I enjoy asparagus more than I do pizza. The reasons why asparagus keeps us healthy are many. Let’s begin by saying that it has 288 mg of potassium per cup. It also contains 3 g of fiber which helps with cleansing the digestive system. It has no sodium, so no bloating during PMS. No fat or cholesterol, and only 40 calories per cup!
According to a clinical dietician at UCLA Medical Center, asparagus in the ultimate in detox vegetables. Asparagus is rich in potassium, vitamin A, vitamin K, and folate. Vitamin K is involved in bone formation and repair, this prevents osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. The folate helps reduce inflammation and reduces the risk for cardiovascular disease. Folate is also very important for women who are pregnant because it helps regulate embryonic and fetal nerve cell formation and may also help to prevent premature birth.
Asparagus is also very high in glutathione-an amino acid with potent antioxidant properties; a must as an anti-aging deterrent. Glutathione is an antioxidant that protects cells from toxins such as free radicals-free radicals cause cancer.
Asparagus is considered to be a psycho-physiological aphrodisiac because of it shape. It is said to trigger the mind to have a physiological response. Funny but, did you know that the french word for asparagus is “asperge”? Asperge is a slang word for penis.Last but not least, asparagus can help prevent and treat urinary tract infections and kidney stones.
In order to get the most health benefits, it is suggested that asparagus be eaten raw. Here is what I have found useful: If you are the kind of person who eats extra snacks because you are bored, replace the snack with asparagus. You’ll see how the craving goes away! Believe me it has worked for me. I hope after reading this you add this “SUPER veggie” to your diet. Thanks for reading!

I don’t doubt any of these awful and hilarious stories for a second.
The Radical Notion That Doctors Are People, Too [Psychology Today]
I completely understand the argument. As doctors, people with lives on their hands, of course we expect them to be “different”. Someone who is better than us, smarter than us, more knowledgable than us. But what we fail to realize as patients alot of the times that they themselves too are only human, prove to error and mistakes. They are only “human”, the cliche goes. And wouldn’t you want doctors to be well rested and well adjusted in their personal lives. That way, they are better people and thus better doctors. I understand the flip side of things but I believe doctors, even more so than us patients, deserve a life. After a stressful day at work, everyone wants to return to a loving family. Imagine a day where many lives hinge on your ingenuity and intelligence, THAT is stressful. I, for one, would just like to say thank to all the doctors, nurses and health care practitioners out there. Thank you for keeping us safe and sacrificing your lives in the process.
