True feelings are worthless

2 days ago, I read a short story based on a passionate, frenzied love & somehow I just can’t stop thinking about it. I’m actually disturbed & maybe that’s why I need to scribble something on it. As such I don’t like reading about love stories but at the same time, it’s almost impossible to stay away from them, because somehow they always creep in.

As usual it has made me question a couple of things. We feel so badly about a character but in real life, we don’t mind hurting & insulting people. It’s okay to be callous & have a bit of fun. True feelings are meant to be insulted sooner or later & love can surely take you to hell.

This is a story about Fred Manson & Gracie. Ned Preston is another important character. He happens to be a Prison visitor & that’s how he learns about the love affair of Fred & Gracie. Fred was serving 18 months sentence in jail for stealing but whatever he did, he did in the name of love. Gracie was much above him in everyway & he wanted her to have the best of everything.

Basically Fred is the type of character who only wanted a bit of fun & it was impossible for him to remain faithful to anyone, but he falls in love with Gracie. And beyond any reasonable doubt, it was genuine love.

‘I’m gone, I can’t help myself, I’m so stuck on you I can’t see straight. I didn’t know what it was to love like I love you.’

At another point, while talking about Gracie, he says this to Ned: ‘I could have had her over & over again if I’d wanted to. And I did want to & so did she. I knew that. But I respected her, see? She’s not like other girls. She’s one in a thousand, I tell you.’

Anyhow when he went to jail for stealing, things altered. Parents of Gracie didn’t want her to marry him anymore but she left the house & started working night & day. Meanwhile Fred thought that Gracie would leave him.

On the other hand, when Ned meets Gracie & tells him about why Fred was into stealing stuff, she said, ‘Tell him that nothing matters to me as long as he loves me. Tell him I’d wait for twenty years for him if I had to. Tell him I’m counting the days till he gets out so we can get married.’

18 months is not a very long time but things do change when you keep on thinking about the same person night & day. Naturally Fred became sick to death of Gracie. He didn’t want to see her face as he hated the sight of her. Even though Ned tried to convince him but Fred didn’t change his mind & so Ned had to go & tell Gracie.

I like how Ned expresses himself; there’s a lot of truth in it that one may not like but this is what happens even in real life. You don’t mind throwing a person as if he/she is a useless squeezed lemon:

‘Imagination’s an odd thing, it dries up; I suppose thinking of her incessantly all that time he’d exhausted every emotion she could give him, & I think it was quite literally true, he’d just got sick to death of her. He’s squeezed the lemon dry & there was nothing to do but throw away the rind.’

Anyhow Gracie took this awful news in a very calm manner. It was like as if she had missed a bus & it was a nuisance to wait for another one but she didn’t create any scene. This is what she said: ‘There’s nothing for me to do now but put my head in the gas oven.’ And the sad part is that she did.

This is indeed heart wrenching. I was wondering if this is what happens when feelings are so genuine, we can’t expect much when it comes to lousy crushes & attractions. And the more I think about this story, the conclusion seems totally apt & I hate it. Gracie was left with no other option & Fred must have been truly sick & tired of her. We can’t blame any character for the choices they made. I don’t know about the others but I think I would have done the same thing.

I guess it’s very easy to say: Don’t cry…just say ‘Fuck you’ & smile!!! For a long time, I thought life was the most inexpensive thing on this planet but now I believe feelings are even more cheap. No one wants to buy them. In fact people not just get rid of them in a variety of ways but they also jeer at them along with low-life fuckers & stuck-up cunts. It’s ironic there is no market for true feelings but most of the relationships are weighed in a balance, cause that’s the only business that works out in this world.

Thank You

In yesterday’s WW meeting we talked about not just how important our support system is but how we need to acknowledge them. Like most of my weight loss efforts (“Yea! Eat Healthy! Work out more!”) somehow WW has worked for me, slowly but surely, and while I’ve hit a few plateaus, I know that I wouldn’t have been able to progress without my #1 supporters.

When I started this journey, I told my friends my intentions. I want to live a healthy life (not just a temporary thing), incorporate better choices and exercise into my life, and it would be great if they could help me out. Almost every healthy tip will say it’s better to have a buddy - you can support each other, coach each other, share tips, and it’s just fun having someone alongside. I asked my friends that when we make dates to base them around healthy habits - not always going to burger joints, going on walks, going biking, etc. And boy, have they delivered! It also helps that they too want to live healthier lives so we’re just inspiring each other to do what’s right.

Even my mom, while skeptical at first has shocked me at how supportive she is. She asks me often how many points things are, what is healthy, what’s my progress, and even tries to make healthier meals when I come over for dinner. Although, being at her house makes me feel like I get a free pass to pig out! Oh the comfort of home!

I have been biking a lot more since friends have asked to go on rides together which in turn has me biking to work more often. It’s especially great that I have a friend right in my neighborhood so we can ride together to local restaurants or shops.

It’s so easy to give into temptation, and that’s allowable, but I thank my friends for keeping me from getting too far off track. They’re not afraid to yell at me or smack me around and they help remind me of my long term reward (beach trip!).

So I just wanted to say: THANK YOU. Thank you to everyone who has made this journey to a healthy and whole life easy and fun. xoxo

Do You Find Your Mother Irritating?

I think many people may relate to this one. There are so many of us who may love our mothers dearly but also find her extremely irritating. Well, if we are honest enough with ourselves we will also note where were are wrong and if were giving her enough space. You should know how to deal with this situation.

Here are just a few tips on how one can be less irritable with his or her mother.

- If you have any unresolved issues from the past in your heart then you should learn to forgive her to improve your relationship. If not improvise, it would at least make you feel less irritated.

- Grow up yourself. Children must learn to grow up with time. You can't act like a child in front of your parents because this will not help you. Children must grow up and act like adults to handle their moms well.

- Don't focus on what you don't like about her rather focus on why you should love and respect her. Gratitude is important. Whether you become a mother yourself or not, you must appreciate your own mother for all that she has done for you and your upbringing.

- You often get irritated by people who are very much like you. Chances are if you find your mother irritable then you are very much like her. Learn more about yourself and change yourself first. But if she is different from you, then try to understand her more.

- The most important thing to do is to find about your mother's childhood and background. How were her parents? How did she live in her younger days? Understanding why she behaves the way she does is the first step towards accepting her better.

Well, this is quite important for everyone who has a mother and who finds her irritable. I agree you must be smart enough to know and understand your parents well to deal with them rather than get irritated. Act like an adult rather than feel irritable!

Guy Humiliated Himself To Get A Second Chance

Joe Page wearing a sandwich board in Brighton to apologize to his girlfriend.

This is a really funny real story from Brighton. Joe Page (26 years), who is a comedian decided to humiliate himself in front of the world because he cheated on his girlfriend.

He regretted going on a date with another woman. His girlfriend, Jess Little discovered about his infidelity through Facebook. Joe wanted to apologize to Jess so he wore a sandwich board and walked through Brighton to win back his girl.

The front of the board said, “I cheated on my girlfriend. I am humiliating myself to show I am sorry.”

On the back, it said: “I love her so much. I will do anything to get her back. I am so sorry.”

He said some people thought he was an idiot; some were laughing and men couldn't believe he was doing this for a girl. One woman thought this was quite romantic.

I hope they stick together from here onward. Everyone does not get second chances so Joe should really value the girl who took her back. While of course not many men humiliate themselves for a girl to apologize for something. And Facebook is quite a dangerous place...it reveals stuff!

The good news is that Joe and Jess might have a happy ending after all because of this stunt he pulled off. He persuaded Jess to talk it out and give him a second chance. Joe revealed later on...Jess did give him a second chance but he is still sleeping on the sofa!!!

Girls Are Like Apples

Girls are like

apples on trees. The best
ones are at the top of the tree.
The boys don't want to reach for
the good ones because they are afraid
of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they
just get the rotten apples from the ground
that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples
at the top think something is wrong with
them, when in reality, they're amazing.
They just have to wait for the right
boy to come along, the one
who's brave enough
to climb
all the way
to the top
                                                               of the tree.

Jennifer Love Hewwit Loves The Rings

Jennifer Love Hewwit is one actress who was pretty darn hot and happening when we first saw her. She also had a few hit movies to her credit when she initially started out but then she kind of disappeared. We saw her later in some TV series and she looked a bit aged and disturbed for her age. Most actresses in such a glamorous life style hardly look like her. She seemed hardly fresh.

Now, US Magazine reported something about her, which sounded quite strange. Apparently, Jennifer is 31 years old and has never been married. She has been dating a guy named Alex Beh for some seven months now but when anybody asks her about marriage all she talks about is a very materialistic reply about her preference of engagement rings.

This is what she said at Ellen DeGeneres Show, mostly about the rings though:

"I actually have three because I feel like I'm doing the guy a favor."

"Women are very confusing. We never know what we want and we're not very good at nailing that down for them. I feel like I don't want to be upset if he picks a bad ring."

"If it gets to that conversation. If marriage comes up, I'm like, "You know what's so weird. There is this store [Tiffany's] and there are three rings in it... And if you chose one of these three, I'm going to be really excited. And if you go off on your own, we can have an awful, awkward moment. So why would you want to do that?"

Jennifer and boy friend Alex Beh ... I hardly recognized her.

So, from her response, it does seem that the rings are more important than the relationship or marriage itself for her. I don't about you guys, but these very recent pictures in which she is wearing these ugly jeans that make her ass so sizeable and huge are not that pleasant to look at. She looks a bit lost and crazy in these pictures somehow on the surface. And the one with her boyfriend, I don't have any comments. I am assuming she would be happy with him.

Sex addicts afraid of intimacy

Sex addicts feel threatened by intimacy and are more insecure about romantic relationships than the rest of the population, a New Zealand study has found.

The survey of more than 600 people found those who indulged in compulsive sexual behaviour felt anxious and insecure about relationships and tried to avoid becoming too emotionally attached to others.

Massey University said the study, conducted by psychology honours student Karen Faislander under the supervision of a practising clinical psychologist and an academic specialist, was the first of its type in New Zealand.

Faislander said sex addiction, which made headlines this year with revelations about Tiger Woods' love life, was a complex condition that had not been researched as thoroughly as areas such as or depression.

She said the term "sex addict" first emerged in the early 1980s and there were 29 other terms in scientific literature that described the condition, including sexual compulsivity, excessive sexual desire disorder and hypersexuality.

The preferred contemporary term is out-of-control sexual behaviours (OOSCH). "It's widely misunderstood and stigmatised," Faislander said. "There's no known effective treatment. We don't know what causes it or how we treat it."

Faislander's study used an anonymous online survey to quiz 621 people about their sex lives. In all, 407 identified themselves as sex addicts while 214 were not.

Slavery In The Name Of Love!

Can love really be destructive? Can it cause an absolute blockage in your brain cells. And then all you're left with is some confused thought...If things would have been different, it would be so much better. If only this wouldn't have happened, life would have been just the way it was planned.

I do believe in love and that it does exist, if not largely but in some capacity somewhere. Genuine love is rare though but I am sure it still is out there. Otherwise, this world would be so doomed a long time ago. The only reason why things are going on is because evil has not conquered it all completely.

Anyway, so can love be so deadly? Honestly speaking, I know many people who were madly in love and it all seemed perfect but they had a terribe end to everything. Then there were a few who even settled down and now it all looks so vain. Some realize it and some aren't even aware of the situation. That's how they are just passing each day without facing the truth.

What is worse is when I see some people who were so crazily in love (or as they claimed) before they got married, are so dishonest with each other now. Like I know a few guys who just sleep around for pleasure with other females and their wives are aware of it but they are cool about it because they feel at the end of the day, the man will come back home. And things are just fine.

I do understand that some relationships don't work out and the love ultimately fades away and then people move on...but when I see people proving to everyone that there is so much love when actually it's just an act, it just doesn't seem worth it. It destroys the very meaning of love and relationships.

A couple of us friends were having a discussion some days ago when we met after a long time on how love actually ruined this very smart guy's life. The guy was quite intelligent and was doing great in his career but just because he fell for the wrong woman at the wrong time, he was no longer the same man. And, now he can't leave her and she in turn is just making his life miserable. Such a stuck up situation.

Lastly, I was quite sad to see how one of my dear friends also fell for someone who is just treating him like a dog. Although I couldn't believe how he, of all the people could take all the crap. But, actually he is, and he is nothing less than a slave! And I am sure pretty soon he will be hooked for life and this slavery forever! And I would have to get nice clothes for his wedding to celebrate his slavery.

So, I am not really sure where that genuine love or feelings have gone...but they are definitely lost. And I still feel it's out there and if one is lucky enough it would come his/her way. However, I don't want to see any more slavery in the name of love ... it just spoils the entire idea of being in love. But this is such wishful thinking.

The Fatal Truth

Don't let someone become a priority in your life, when you are just an option in their life...

Relationships work best when they are balanced.
