How animals are being rescued with so much passion in Japan

Non-non with her owner. Her owner was devastated when she visited her house, which was completely damaged but Non-non came out of the stairs & started meowing.

Cat Island - this is a place where too many cats & old people lived. It's intact but they all need help & food.
This is the woman who refused to go without her dog Yosuke, because officials wouldn't let take her dog. She didn't leave her pet & after 3 days, they were both rescued.
This man was reunited with his dog. It even came out in the papers. You can clearly see how much the owner loves his baby.
The loyal dog who didn't leave his friend in rubble of earthquake & tsunami

I have been reading several stories of how animals have been rescued in Japan. Everything points only in 1 direction – Japanese are not just hard working people, they also care about animals.

However, situation is bad for animals in Sendai. They are preparing a team to go there with food & supplies. There have been rumors that animals will be euthanized in several areas but it’s far from truth. They have confirmed that no animal will be euthanized. Moreover, they are also trying to create temporary shelters at Animal Friends Niigata to house animals besides trying to reunite lost pets with their owners.

Japan is a nation of pet lovers. Most families have a dog or cat, birds, a rabbit, or other pets in their apartments. At first people had no news about Cat Island which but people & cats of the island have been rescued but need help & food. The small island in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, is also home to many cats & old people. A shrine also exists there which is dedicated to cats.

They also encountered a woman who refused to evacuate as the officials wouldn’t allow her to take her dog Yosuke with her. She didn’t leave Yosuke behind & stayed with the dog in her shaking house for 3 days & the good news is that both of them are okay.

Many people have seen the video of a dog wouldn’t leave his injured friend in the rubbles. Both of them are safe now.

A woman went back to her house to search for her cat. The house was entirely destroyed but thank God, her cat Non-non survived as she was upstairs. The cat was a bit shaken but it’s good to know that Non-non too is safe now with her owner. Another man was reunited with his injured pet dog & that pic can make you cry. I hardly see that kind of compassion for humans here & these people even love their animals like mad.

I’m really proud of Japan & it’s people. I think Japan has set an example for the rest of the world which keeps blabbing when hit by disasters. Japanese are not just fighting with this natural disaster with honor, but they have proud they are one of the most compassionate nations. We sign zillions of petitions in which healthy animals in pretty okay places are being killed & tortured for no reason. I wonder what would they do if some natural calamity hits them. I don’t think such inhuman people can learn anything from Japan but I can’t help ignoring their evil deeds at the moment.

I have a Japanese friend & she has been telling us what’s going on in Japan every day. Places have been completely wiped off. You can’t call any place safe but these people haven’t given up & they are fighting.

Please continue to pray for them. Disasters could happen to anyone.

A Quote by Siddhartha Gautama Buddha

"When ignorant people see someone who is old, they are disgusted and horrified, even though they too will be old some day. I thought to myself: I don't want to be like the ignorant people. After that, I couldn't feel the usual intoxication with youth anymore.

When ignorant people see someone who is sick, they are disgusted and horrified, even though they too will be sick some day. I thought to myself: I don't want to be like the ignorant people. After that, I couldn't feel the usual intoxication with health anymore.

When ignorant people see someone who is dead, they are disgusted and horrified, even though they too will be dead some day. I thought to myself: I don't want to be like the ignorant people. After then, I couldn't feel the usual intoxication with life anymore."

Green-eyed monster in your backyard

I have 2 questions & they can be taken as just 1: How compassionate are you when jealousy strikes at your door? Can you have compassion for someone who’s capable of killing you? My answer would be no but yes I’d try to understand as to why someone wants bad things to happen to me. Few years ago, I read this report about a woman killing both her parents with an axe. It happened in Ramazan. She was mentally ill. Her husband left her & she had 2 kids & she wanted to get married again but she said that her mother was not interested. After staying in the jail for 2 years, she herself also committed suicide. It’s difficult to be compassionate when we hear such cases. And it’s easy to use the word judgmental for those who can’t be compassionate.

We have heard of rivalry & jealous amongst siblings. We also have the example of Cane & Abel. It is said that Abel, the first murder victim, is sometimes seen as the first martyr; while Cain, the first murderer, is sometimes seen as a progenitor of evil.

I also read:

“It seems as old as time itself, and yet the mystery of what to do about jealousy between siblings has yet to be solved. The new baby coming home may upset its older sibling. Brothers and sisters who are close in age will feel the need to compete, and for unknown reasons one sibling may have feelings of resentment towards another that can (and many times will) last throughout their adulthood.”

Actually I have a couple of things in my mind. People say that a mother can never be mean but then we hear of cases in which mothers have killed their children. There is also a view that jealousy cannot exist between siblings. I think these views have come from people who want everyone to think that there is nothing wrong in this world. And if you depict the world as shit pot, then you have invented stories that are preposterous for the worldly mind.

When I was in college, somebody narrated this hilarious story that a mother sleeps between her son & his wife. We just couldn’t believe it as it sounded extremely funny. In our part of the world, mother-in-law is regarded as vamp & daughter-in-law is mostly considered some character from the movies who puts up with shit & doesn’t even complain. In simple words, I call it lack of imagination as anyone can be vamp.

Anyway, in all these years, I’ve seen that jealousy is something that can exist anywhere & in any relationship. A daughter can be jealous of her mother. A mother would have problems with the wife of her son. Sister can be jealous of another sister. Siblings can look down on the one who is not like them.

We live once & I really don’t see the point of having grudges against people who have hurt me at some point or who targeted me for whatever reason. I don’t like to resume friendship with such people though. And there are also some people who have never been my friend but they surely have problem with me…those people are called cousins from my maternal side, in plain English. Since I already have enemies, so it doesn’t really matter what I say. Those who don’t know me may regard me as someone who likes to bitch 24/7 & is also very shameless. But their opinion is not that important.

My history is something like this…I wouldn’t have been born, had my brother Aurangzeb not died. My mother still misses him & both my parents were extremely hurt. He was a blond & a very beautiful baby. Anyhow, I was born after a year & at that very time, my father also got promoted. And both my parents decided that they wouldn’t raise the topic of divorce again as they now have 2 daughters. I was considered very lucky for my parents. Everyone knows that I’m vocal but no one knows that I started talking with Papa when I was just 3 days old. And he used to visit us every weekend. My childhood was nothing short of a fairy tale. But that got me into serious trouble.

I have seen movies & have also read books in which they show rivalry between siblings but somehow they are always stepbrothers & stepsisters, never real ones. What a pity! I wonder how long we are going to take to look truth straight in the eye.

Last but not least, my kid sister is, by all means, a gift of God. If Z had been a year younger than me, then I surely would have no need for a single friend. You know God makes sure to compensate.

Killing of dogs in Karachi

Dogs are being killed on a daily basis in Karachi. And guns are being used to kill them. Not just adult dogs but also puppies including new born babies are being killed ruthlessly. They just want to wipe out dogs from this city.

DHA society came up with this idea in Lahore few years ago. In posh areas, they didn’t allow dogs & the only way to stop them was to shoot them. Most of the shooters aren’t even good shooters. Many a time, the animal suffers for too long & then he dies.

I used to give food to some dogs & their puppies. This year all those dogs & their pups were being shot. I don’t expect much change in this bloody system that doesn’t know any educated way of dealing with a problem, if stray dogs & their puppies are a problem, to begin with. Well that’s how I see it - humans are the ones who are torturing & brutally killing them! These are the posh areas where the minds of humans are totally plagued. Actually these minds are far worse than the garbage sites.

There is also this myth that dog is impure. So far I haven’t read it in the translation of the Quran. But I know that Caliph Omar said that even if a dog went hungry by the banks of the Euphrates the lord of the Hosts would hold him accountable on the Day of Judgment. I also know that there was this prostitute…she came across a thirsty dog by the riverside & she filled water for him from the river & fed him. It has been said that all her sins were forgiven & this incident was narrated by none other than the Holy Prophet (PBUH). By the way, the Holy Prophet also had cats as pets. These are the things which are never being mentioned.

Coming back to those killers & the ones who came up with this bright idea – naturally I don’t think much of them & I don’t want to understand them either. These are absurd rules & what hurts me the most is that no one even files a suit against such acts. In fact, when we say that strays are being treated badly & these killings are wrong - we always hear this rotten argument “But humans are killed in the same manner & you are talking about dogs & cats.”

Well the killing of any being is wrong & that includes both humans & animals. Just because animals can’t protest, it doesn’t make their murder any less of a crime. All those people who are involved in this crime…I would say why don’t they go & kill Taliban residing in Karachi. Oh no but where these fucking Afghanis live, even the police cannot enter in that area! I don’t know if people would ever wake up. I don’t know if there’s ever going to be a change. I’ve just reached the conclusion that humans are cowards. Even those who keep mum when these killings are going on are cowards. When you allow intruders to stay in your city & to kill you & to terrorize you in the name of something that they do not know of– yes, then you are a coward!

Most of you know that we look after some cats on a small scale & we have kept them as pets & everyone who is related to us or who is a friend or who knows us by any means…he/she always has this advice – why don’t you guys get rid of these dirty cats? They are making your house dirty. You guys have to clean the shit & all. What I’ve seen is that people themselves don’t do any good & if they see anyone else doing a little bit of good work – they also have the audacity to ask that person to stop it. Now I can’t expect anything of such people. I know for sure that they can’t protest for animals, & I’m very sorry to say if ever time would come, they won’t be able to protest for themselves.

I’m extremely sorry for humans – the elevated apes. They don’t have any idea as to what is compassion. If they had any, animals wouldn’t have been murdered & tortured. Since God doesn’t guide the ungodly, so I don’t know where is the solution & I don’t know if this atrocity could ever end.
