Yesterday night I posted a picture of the view of one of my...

This is a scenic shot of one of my granite customers in the Bahamas.

It made me realize that our work lives are a small portion of why we’re here on this planet.  Many people would trade the fifty years in the system for a few short years living on an island paradise eating grapes.

Hopefully in our lives, we’ll all have the opportunity to sample both at one time or another.

I miss the Bahamas so much. I’d love to just live there forever. I will go back to Atlantis one day!

Yesterday night I posted a picture of the view of one of my client’s houses in Nassau in the Bahamas.

Later the next day, we found that one of his employees had been taken to jail for possessing a gun.  He was 19 years old and as we drove up to the worker’s driveway I had a sinking feeling.

We sat and drank tea with his mother while Indian music blasted behind us.  Without his work she would not be able to survive.  The money we dropped off, which I originally thought was “bail money” was actually to bribe the sheriff to let him go.

Outside no less than a dozen young kids played while eating from closed-cell extruded polystyrene foam containers.

His worker was out of jail by the end of lunch time.

Seven things or people that broke your heart:

Sadly I can’t think of anyone who has truly broken my heart. Plenty of people have disappointed me though. But I can think of THINGS that break my heart.

1. The fact that two females and two males cannot legally get married in every single state. People need to stop living in the past and wake up. Honestly if you don’t support this I’m not sure you even know what love is. They should ban you from getting married.

2. The fact that my best friend in Jamaica struggles for money everyday at 19. It kills me to hear he hasn’t eaten in two days sometimes. Yet he is simply the happiest person I know. I WISH I could be more like him, I feel so selfish.

3. People I thought were my best friends that left me. The way they treated me breaks my heart. The fact that I would do anything for them and always put them first and got nothing but a handful of shit in return. Yeah that breaks my heart. But they left so I could make room for new people.

4. The fact that my mother thinks she has failed in her role at times. I just wish she knew she is literally the best mother anyone could ask for. People wish they had a mom like her. I’m way too hard on her at times. I worry about her too much and that breaks my heart.

5. The fact that my boyfriend and best friend lives 1,756 miles from me.

6. I have never met Adam Young. Selfish but absolutely breaks my heart. Just to make him smile once is all I want.

7. I wish I could provide more to my family and I can’t, which breaks my heart. Even though it’s not my job, I still wish I could. I also wish I could see my nephew more.

I need ideas on where to go in Kingston, Jamaica. I’m rounding up ma closest friends and going out after which every1 will come to my home for a sleepover but I want help on where I can go for fun and food in the evening and also some activities that we can do while we’re back at my place. PLEASE…tell me!!!! Keeping it low budget.

The Bahamas in Technicolor

and I miss it so much. Can’t wait to post pictures and make all mah followers jeal. :) Here is a preview.

Today i got a taste of what Costa Rica rain is like. My father would LOVE this. It was so loud that i could not hear the person beside me or across from me talk. It was hard to hear myself talk. Class was pretty uneventful as was most of the day. I recently found out that there is a problem with my passport. CR customs granted me 30 days to stay in CR but i’ve registered with my school to stay for 43 days (six weeks plus one day). I have to got back to the airport tomorrow to see if they will correct it. I hope so.

I’m sure that anyone one who knows the slightest bit of Spanish knows that Latin America doesn’t use the 2nd person plural form (vosotros) of verbs; only Spain does. But did you know that Costa Rica uses neither the 2nd person plural nor the 2nd person singular (tu) forms for their verbs? I haven’t decided whether that will be advantageous for me or not.

Tomorrow i have a cooking activity after class and i’ll be sure to pay attention. I’m not a cook, i’m a baker, but i happen to know a certain follower who might enjoy this a lot even if she prefers French and Asian cultures :P

Here’s where I’m going.

See you in 1.5 weeks :D

This is where i am going:

ouch, but yay!

So I am working right now, okay maybe not, or maybe I AM!

So I have created a Tumblr for the gym i work at and I think you would love to follow it!

http://humanatease.tumblr.com/

It really is awesome helping to promote a business or even better to promote fitness!

My grammar maybe really lousy today and I am also not sure why that is. All I can say is that i am really excited about strength training lately and it gets worse everyday I work because I may do a couple of pull-ups and get one more every time I try just teasing me to get just one more.

I need to definitely start getting into more advanced routines and move along…..

So what advanced techniques should I do?

Praise the Lord! That’s wonderful news. God is so good and full of mercy. God bless your heart, Lee!

Today there are so many things that are made out of plastic and many things that we eat and drink come in plastic packaging. The increased awareness of the harmful chemicals in plastics is causing concern and it is important to understand which plastics are safe and harmful. So, how do we determine which are the safe plastics and which ones we should try not to use? It is important to understand the types of plastics. All plastics are identified by a code numbered 1 through 7 that is typically located on the bottom of the packaging with the famous recycling triangle around it. The next time you use plastic (or buy canned food for your bomb shelter), pay attention to the following numbers to know what to avoid:

1 Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) Used to make soft drink, water, sports drink, ketchup, salad dressing bottles, peanut butter, pickle, jelly and jam jars.
BAD: Due to antimony leaching although many sources will say it is ok for one time use.

2 High density polyethylene (HDPE) Milk, water, and juice bottles, yogurt and margarine tubs, cereal box liners, and grocery, trash, and retail bags.
GOOD: Not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones.

3 Polyvinyl chloride (V or PVC) Most cling-wrapped meats, cheeses, and other foods sold in delicatessens and groceries are wrapped in PVC.
BAD: To soften into its flexible form, manufacturers add “plasticizers” during production. Traces of these chemicals can leach out of PVC when in contact with foods. According to the National Institutes of Health, di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), commonly found in PVC, is a suspected human carcinogen.

4 Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) Some bread and frozen food bags and squeezable bottles.
OK: Not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones, but not as widely recycled as #1 or #2.

5 Polypropylene (PP) Some ketchup bottles and yogurt and margarine tubs.
OK: Hazardous during production, but not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones. Not as widely recycled as #1 and #2.

6 Polystyrene (PS) Foam insulation and also for hard applications (e.g. cups, some toys)
BAD: Benzene (material used in production) is a known human carcinogen. Butadiene and styrene (the basic building block of the plastic) are suspected carcinogens. Energy intensive and poor recycling.

7 Other (usually polycarbonate) Baby bottles, microwave ovenware, eating utensils, plastic coating for metal cans.
BAD: Made with biphenyl-A, a chemical invented in the 1930s in search for synthetic estrogens. A hormone disruptor. Simulates the action of estrogen when tested in human breast cancer studies. Can leach into food as product ages.

I Didn't Date Any Porn Star - Says Macaulay Culkin

Recently we saw a picture of the Home Alone star, Macaulay Culkin with a girl named Irene Lopez. Apparently, Irene is a Spanish porn star. It was reported that Macaulay just got out of his relationship with Mila Kunis and he knows how to move on and rock on as a single man once again, which is why he was hanging out and partying with Irene Lopez.

Now, Macaulay Culkin gave an interview to E! in which he denied having any relationship with Irene Lopez. He said that he doesn't even know her and just met her as he meets any fan and took a photograph with her on her request like he does for any fan he comes across. But he denied dating the girl.

Macaulay told E!, "As I do with many fans, I briefly met and took a photo with Irene Lopez at her request." He  also said further, "I have had no contact with this woman in any capacity, social or otherwise before or since that picture was taken. Any reports to the contrary are false."

Thus, perhaps he is enjoying his life being a single guy again but he is not really hanging out with a porn star it seems so we got to believe whatever the lady Irene said was a fictional story she told the world to get some attention.

Love Lost :P

I just saw this on facebook with the caption:

Mera Janeman Kahan Kho Gaya Hai Tum

Profound Addiction

They say excess of anything is bad. It is…I don’t have any doubt about it. In fact, it has been my history. I always get addicted to the wrong kind of things, & then I move on :P Usually the reason for moving on is…I get bored. But while the addiction lasts, it is sure fun.

When I said things…that included almost everything, to be precise. I just don’t feel like saying things aloud for a change.

As of now, I’m mafia addicted. I’m obsessed with this application to the degree which is unhealthy, but nevertheless it’s fun.

Although momentary pleasure doesn’t mean much to me but for the heck of fun, I asked myself these questions: How many times have I been addicted? Can I truly call myself an addict? Is genuine addiction fun or escapism?

The answers didn’t surprise me one bit, but unfortunately I can’t say to myself: Get addicted now!

Try giving it the right name…it’s so much fun!

Today I want to talk about a couple of things that don’t bother me as such, but it’s mindless fun to talk about them.

The other day my mother was quite mad. She said a particular lady on the radio often mentions celebrities & gives it a really dirty touch. One day this RJ mentioned something about Kareena & Shahid. They met somewhere & they started talking. When 2 celebrities talk, people invariably presume. That was the case. Again she narrated another lousy incident in which Aishwarya Rai & Vivek were talking. And she painted it as if something juicy might happen between these 2. Actually the case of Kareena & Shahid was also painted on the same canvas. Sometimes we seem to run out of short stories.

We know that people have a habit of presuming about others. When it comes to celebrities, people start jumping from here to there. What I find amusing is that even if 2 actors talk & something juicy happens between them, why is the 3rd party all excited about it! People can talk to their ex-boyfriends & girlfriends. What’s the big deal about it? Yeah but getting excited about what’s going to happen after that talk is hilarious. You talk to someone & there is a possibility of some fun & one is excited about it…that’s normal. Getting excited about someone else’s fun time is beyond my imagination.

Nobody has anything nice to say about Pakistani actress Saima. Everyone says she’s 50 or 60 & she shouldn’t work in the movies. Those who call her an old woman must also be in their 40’s. I once saw Saima in this song in which she was running like mad & the director must have been obsessed by the idea of mountains. I just couldn’t help laughing. Anyway the question is: if the director is sick, where do we stand?

Writers too are called perverted. Although the ones I’m talking about do not fall in the category of the director I mentioned above. (Yes, he must go for some cheap comedy or something more fun & low). But I have seen it’s very convenient for people to call authors sick & rotten. Imagination is one thing that doesn’t know boundaries. That’s the charm of it. And believe me, putting down something on paper is not as easy as it seems. There are people who don’t know anything & yet they think they have the right to rape somebody’s work of art or even an analytical writing.

Few years ago, I saw this banner of some cell phone. It said: “It’s small, sexy & fun.” Naturally the thing that hit me that very instant was: if it’s small, how can it be sexy & fun? Although what I thought was not extraordinary, but I said it when everyone is pretending to be something they are not.
Now I don’t meet naïve folks as I’m not that young. But when I was 18, I was talking to this school friend who went to some other college. And she asked me if girls of my college indulge in that forbidden act. Strangely, we all knew about her affair. I can only say…Some people are really funny. You don’t have to tell the world everything, but you don’t have to act as an idiot either just to prove that you’re 100 % naïve.

PS I write for fun. No need to take my words seriously. Stay happy, if it’s possible!

The book that is not on the shelf

I usually don’t like my writings, because I’m never satisfied. The only factors that stand out in my writings are most probably honesty & the fact that I write things with finality. Anyway, I really liked our book & I was not supposed to write on it today. In fact, I didn’t want to, but my sister is on the net & I have nothing better to do. And I’m certainly not in mood of reading right now. So, I’ll talk about our book ‘If mortals had been immortals & other short stories.’

Well Z & I had loads of fun while writing this book. We started off in 2006 & finished the book after a year. Writing a book is not anything easy, as many presume it to be. Try it & you will get the picture. We worked really hard. 1 & a half year was wasted in waiting as one of my brothers said that he would get it published in America (anything can be published in the land of opportunity) where he lives, but somehow he never had the time.

Our book is far ahead of time & it is experimental writing. Naturally America seemed to be the right place. Somehow we got it published online & here I would like to thank those 5 people who bought our book in which no one believes. We tried to get it in hard copy, but we haven’t succeeded so far, as it’s not about partition or music or some kind of art that the world can relate to. I really don’t know the reason as I don’t live in the minds of people. And just come to think of it, what a sad abode that would be! Maybe it’s not the right time, but when is the right time to start thinking? When is the right time to look at a thing from another angle? If it’s not now, then when? Do we need thousand more years to wait? Maybe they can wait. It suits them.

Writers like D. H. Lawrence have suffered & who are we? Exactly nothing! Rejection is not a new phenomenon for Z & I. In a way, I feel good that it’s not typical writing & that’s why people aren’t ready for it. Moreover, it’s available on the net. Even when we die, our book lives. The words we have scribbled aren’t being wasted. That much I know.

However, people drink piss because they have to & they start shitting in their pants when they hear of something extraordinary. I don’t know if it’s ever going to change. I still believe in my work & I was asking Z the other day that we should go till the end. We just can’t give up, cause people are not ready for something far ahead of time. Just because they are scared doesn’t mean the work is a piece of shit. And we see countless books that aren’t even readable & yet they are in the market. Quite frankly, I mostly read classics, cause these new books are rarely readable. Sometimes it seems paper has been wasted. I’m so sorry for being blunt, but this is how I see it. And I don’t think our book falls in that category.

I’m not saying Z & I are the best writers of this century. I can’t say that. But I know how we write & I don’t think anyone can demoralize us. I still believe in our work & I just can’t give up on it, cause not a single soul believes in it. In fact, I want to work on another book with my crazy partner. I look forward to it. I really do.
