My problems with my shoes are gone - I just had to figure out how to wear them (if that makes any sense).

Also, AG, that’s awesome! I’ve noticed most of my cravings are gone as well. Especially from not having soda for awhile.

BIG UPDATE: I went to a Charity event yesterday at Wing Chun place near me. Wing Chun is that kung fu I was telling you that my friend just got into. I signed up, completely forgetting that I was starting a new job this week. BUT! It does seem to be a great workout and it’s useful because it’s all self-defense techniques and real-life situations and stuff like that. Plus the instructors are really cute. I couldn’t pass up the chance.

So, I’m starting work today and I’m going to see my schedule and I’m going to try and balance Wing Chun and the job. I probably will have to call the cute instructors and tell them I can’t make it three times a week.

We’ll see. I’ll keep you updated!

Oh! And I started running the lake. I’m not to a 3 minute run, but so far I think I’m doing pretty well and I feel a lot more worked out when I finish.

It’s raining a lot here, so my real problem is trying to stay dry. hahaha

BH

So, I’ve been a vegan for about a month now and a vegetarian for almost a year (3 months shy). Although, I feel like I cheated because I was a pescatarian in the beginning…I’m not going to be too hard on myself because I am what I am now and the past is the past.

The best part about being vegan is that not only do I feel good, I look good. I have lost 10 lbs and it’s so much easier to pass everything through. I know that’s a bit personal but, hey, it’s natural!

So, I just wanted to update you guys on what’s going on because I haven’t been on for awhile.

Now, I’m gonna enjoy my vacation :) My sister, best friend, and I are in Maine with my family and it’s the most beautiful place in the world.

  • i slept in rather than practice yoga this morning, but that’s okay because i did 4 days this week and that was my goal!
  • 3.5 miles this afternoon, then maybe a teeny bit of ab/upper body work if i’m feeling up to it.
  • the high is near 100 so i’ll probably get outside early and read/swim/lament buying my new bathing suit bottoms in the wrong size then losing the receipt
  • i just found out that my mom is making nothing that i can eat for dinner so i have to figure out what the hell to make for myself

i also really want to watch love and other drugs. but i’ve heard that it’s not appropriate to watch with parents…but i don’t want to offend them by hoarding it alone in my room. then again, my parents watched misfits with me and just looked past the sexy parts and “it’s that british show about superhero teenagers” to them.

this post is brought to you by 10 hours of sleep and coffee with vanilla almond milk.

ouch, but yay!

So I am working right now, okay maybe not, or maybe I AM!

So I have created a Tumblr for the gym i work at and I think you would love to follow it!

http://humanatease.tumblr.com/

It really is awesome helping to promote a business or even better to promote fitness!

My grammar maybe really lousy today and I am also not sure why that is. All I can say is that i am really excited about strength training lately and it gets worse everyday I work because I may do a couple of pull-ups and get one more every time I try just teasing me to get just one more.

I need to definitely start getting into more advanced routines and move along…..

So what advanced techniques should I do?

Praise the Lord! That’s wonderful news. God is so good and full of mercy. God bless your heart, Lee!

Today there are so many things that are made out of plastic and many things that we eat and drink come in plastic packaging. The increased awareness of the harmful chemicals in plastics is causing concern and it is important to understand which plastics are safe and harmful. So, how do we determine which are the safe plastics and which ones we should try not to use? It is important to understand the types of plastics. All plastics are identified by a code numbered 1 through 7 that is typically located on the bottom of the packaging with the famous recycling triangle around it. The next time you use plastic (or buy canned food for your bomb shelter), pay attention to the following numbers to know what to avoid:

1 Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) Used to make soft drink, water, sports drink, ketchup, salad dressing bottles, peanut butter, pickle, jelly and jam jars.
BAD: Due to antimony leaching although many sources will say it is ok for one time use.

2 High density polyethylene (HDPE) Milk, water, and juice bottles, yogurt and margarine tubs, cereal box liners, and grocery, trash, and retail bags.
GOOD: Not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones.

3 Polyvinyl chloride (V or PVC) Most cling-wrapped meats, cheeses, and other foods sold in delicatessens and groceries are wrapped in PVC.
BAD: To soften into its flexible form, manufacturers add “plasticizers” during production. Traces of these chemicals can leach out of PVC when in contact with foods. According to the National Institutes of Health, di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), commonly found in PVC, is a suspected human carcinogen.

4 Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) Some bread and frozen food bags and squeezable bottles.
OK: Not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones, but not as widely recycled as #1 or #2.

5 Polypropylene (PP) Some ketchup bottles and yogurt and margarine tubs.
OK: Hazardous during production, but not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones. Not as widely recycled as #1 and #2.

6 Polystyrene (PS) Foam insulation and also for hard applications (e.g. cups, some toys)
BAD: Benzene (material used in production) is a known human carcinogen. Butadiene and styrene (the basic building block of the plastic) are suspected carcinogens. Energy intensive and poor recycling.

7 Other (usually polycarbonate) Baby bottles, microwave ovenware, eating utensils, plastic coating for metal cans.
BAD: Made with biphenyl-A, a chemical invented in the 1930s in search for synthetic estrogens. A hormone disruptor. Simulates the action of estrogen when tested in human breast cancer studies. Can leach into food as product ages.

Madhavan - The hottest vegetarian in town

Madhavan, a longtime PETA supporter, says, 'For me, being a vegetarian is about being compassionate. I love animals, so I would never eat them. Having a healthy heart is a great bonus, but I'd rather people think of me as having a good soul and a kind heart.'

R Madhavan has taken up the cause of chickens and has written to food chain CEO David Novak on behalf of PETA urging him to stop killing the birds.

'I am sure you're a compassionate person who agrees that animals, whether they are dogs, cats or chickens, should not be abused and that working to stop this unnecessary cruelty should be a top priority,' Madhavan wrote.

'Please use your unique position to stop the worst abuses of these sensitive birds by making the improvements suggested by PETA and the food chain's own former animal welfare advisors,' he added.
